It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar was asked: How many times did the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) do 'Umrah? He said: Twice. 'Aa'ishah said: Ibn 'Umar knew that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) did 'Umrah three times apart from the 'Umrah he did along with the Farewell Pilgrimage.

It was narrated that Abdullahibn 'Umar said: I went on one of the expeditions sent out by the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and the people turned to flee and I was among those who fled. We said: What should we do, as we fled the battlefield and have incurred Allah's wrath? Then we said: Why don't we go to Madinah and stay overnight, then if we present ourselves to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), if there is a way to repent ( all well and good), otherwise we will go away. So we came to him before fajr prayer and he said: "Who is there?" We sad: It is us, the ones who ran away. He said: "No; rather you are the ones who are regrouping and I am your rearguard. I am the rearguard of the Muslims.” So we came to him and Kissed his hand.

Yahya ibn Raashid said: We set out for Hajj, ten people from ash-Shaam (Greater Syria) and we came to Makkah... And he narrated the hadeeth. He said: We came to him and he came out to us, referring to Ibn 'Umar. And he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say: "The one whose intercession prevented one of the hudood punishments ordained by Allah for being carried out, Allah will oppose him. Whoever dies owing a debt, it will be settled not by means of dinars and dirhams, but by means of hasanaat and sayyi'aat (good deeds and bad deeds). Whoever disputes on the basis of falsehood knowingly will remain subject to the wrath of Allah until he gives it up. Whoever says concerning the believer something that is not true, Allah will cause him to sink into the mud of the juice of the people of Hell until he stops saying it."
