حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا عَوَّذَ مَرِيضًا قَالَ أَذْهِبْ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا

It was narrated that 'Ali said: When the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) recited ruqyah for a sick person, said: "Remove the hardship and suffering, Lord of mankind, and grant healing, for You are the Healer and there is no healing except Your healing; (grant) healing which does not leave any sickness behind."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ كُنْتُ مُؤَمِّرًا أَحَدًا دُونَ مَشُورَةِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَأَمَّرْتُ ابْنَ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ

It was narrated that 'Ali said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "If I were to appoint anyone to a position of authority without consulting the believers, I would have appointed Ibn Umm 'Abd (Abdullah bin Mas'ood)."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي الْحُسَامِ مَدَنِيٌّ مَوْلًى لِآلِ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ أُمِّهِ قَالَتْ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ بِمِنًى إِذَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ هَذِهِ أَيَّامُ أَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ فَلَا يَصُومُهَا أَحَدٌ وَاتَّبَعَ النَّاسَ عَلَى جَمَلِهِ يَصْرُخُ بِذَلِكَ

It was narrated from 'Amr bin Sulaim that his mother said: Whilst we were in Mina, I saw 'Ali bin Abi Talib (RA) say: Tire Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "These days are for eating and drinking, so no one should fast these days/' And he went around to the people on his camel, shouting that.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَرَفَعَهُ قَالَ مَنْ كَذَبَ فِي حُلْمِهِ كُلِّفَ عَقْدَ شَعِيرَةٍ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

It was narrated that 'Ali (RA) said, attributing it to the Prophet (PBUH): "Whoever tells a lie about his dream will be commanded to tie a grain of barley on the Day of Resurrection."

It was narrated that 'Ali (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah used to pray the two rak'ahs of Fajr when the iqamah was given.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَارَةُ بْنُ الْقَعْقَاعِ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْعُكْلِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُجَيٍّ قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ كَانَتْ لِي سَاعَةٌ مِنْ السَّحَرِ أَدْخُلُ فِيهَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَإِنْ كَانَ قَائِمًا يُصَلِّي سَبَّحَ بِي فَكَانَ ذَاكَ إِذْنُهُ لِي وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ يُصَلِّي أَذِنَ لِي

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Nujayy said: 'Ali said: There was a time before dawn when I would ask to enter upon the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) If he was praying, he would say Subhan Allah to me, and that was my permission to enter; if he was not praying, he would give me permission to enter.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ أَتَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا نَائِمٌ وَفَاطِمَةُ وَذَلِكَ مِنْ السَّحَرِ حَتَّى قَامَ عَلَى الْبَابِ فَقَالَ أَلَا تُصَلُّونَ فَقُلْتُ مُجِيبًا لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّمَا نُفُوسُنَا بِيَدِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَبْعَثَنَا قَالَ فَرَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ إِلَى الْكَلَامِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ حِينَ وَلَّى يَقُولُ وَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ وَكَانَ الْإِنْسَانُ أَكْثَرَ شَيْءٍ جَدَلًا

It was narrated from 'Ali bin Husain that his father said: I heard 'Ali say: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came to me when Fatimah and I were sleeping, and that was at the time before dawn. He stood at the door and said, "Why don't you get up and pray?" I answered him: O Messenger of Allah, our souls are in the hand of Allah and if He wills, He will wake us up. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) went back and did not say anything else (to me), but I heard him, as he was leaving, strike his hand against his thigh and say: "But, man is ever more quarrelsome than anything" [al-Kahf I8:54J.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكٌ عَنْ حَنَشٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى قَوْمٍ قَدْ بَنَوْا زُبْيَةً لِلْأَسَدِ فَبَيْنَا هُمْ كَذَلِكَ يَتَدَافَعُونَ إِذْ سَقَطَ رَجُلٌ فَتَعَلَّقَ بِآخَرَ ثُمَّ تَعَلَّقَ رَجُلٌ بِآخَرَ حَتَّى صَارُوا فِيهَا أَرْبَعَةً فَجَرَحَهُمْ الْأَسَدُ فَانْتَدَبَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ بِحَرْبَةٍ فَقَتَلَهُ وَمَاتُوا مِنْ جِرَاحَتِهِمْ كُلُّهُمْ فَقَامُوا أَوْلِيَاءُ الْأَوَّلِ إِلَى أَوْلِيَاءِ الْآخِرِ فَأَخْرَجُوا السِّلَاحَ لِيَقْتَتِلُوا فَأَتَاهُمْ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَلَى تَفِيئَةِ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ تُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَقَاتَلُوا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَيٌّ إِنِّي أَقْضِي بَيْنَكُمْ قَضَاءً إِنْ رَضِيتُمْ فَهُوَ الْقَضَاءُ وَإِلَّا حَجَزَ بَعْضُكُمْ عَنْ بَعْضٍ حَتَّى تَأْتُوا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَكُونَ هُوَ الَّذِي يَقْضِي بَيْنَكُمْ فَمَنْ عَدَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَلَا حَقَّ لَهُ اجْمَعُوا مِنْ قَبَائِلِ الَّذِينَ حَفَرُوا الْبِئْرَ رُبُعَ الدِّيَةِ وَثُلُثَ الدِّيَةِ وَنِصْفَ الدِّيَةِ وَالدِّيَةَ كَامِلَةً فَلِلْأَوَّلِ الرُّبُعُ لِأَنَّهُ هَلَكَ مَنْ فَوْقَهُ وَلِلثَّانِي ثُلُثُ الدِّيَةِ وَلِلثَّالِثِ نِصْفُ الدِّيَةِ فَأَبَوْا أَنْ يَرْضَوْا فَأَتَوْا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عِنْدَ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَصُّوا عَلَيْهِ الْقِصَّةَ فَقَالَ أَنَا أَقْضِي بَيْنَكُمْ وَاحْتَبَى فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ إِنَّ عَلِيًّا قَضَى فِينَا فَقَصُّوا عَلَيْهِ الْقِصَّةَ فَأَجَازَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

It was narrated that 'Ali (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) sent me to Yemen, and we came to some people who had built a trap for a lion. They began to push one another, and one man fell, so he grabbed onto another one, who then grabbed onto another one, until all four of them ended up in the trap and the lion wounded them. Then a man came and killed the lion with a spear, and they all died of their wounds. The next of kin of the first man went to the next of kin of the last man, and they took out weapons to fight, then 'Ali came to them straight away and said: Do you want to fight one another when the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) is still alive? I will judge between you, and if you agree then that is the verdict, otherwise keep away from one another until you go to the Prophet (PBUH) and he will be the one who judges between you, then whoever transgresses after that will have no right. Collect from the tribes of those who fell into the hole one quarter of the diyah [blood moneyj, one third of the diyah, one half of the diyah and a complete diyah. For the first man (who fell in) there will be one quarter, because he caused the death of the one who came after him; for the second one there is one third of the diyah; and for the third one there is half of the diyah. They refused to accept that, so they went to the Prophet (PBUH) when he was at Maqam Ibraheem and told him the story, and he said: "I will judge between you/' One of the people said: 'Ali has already passed judgement. They told him about it and the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) approved it.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ كَتَبْتُ إِلَيْكَ بِخَطِّي وَخَتَمْتُ الْكِتَابَ بِخَاتَمِي يَذْكُرُ أَنَّ اللَّيْثَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ أَنَّ الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَرَقَهُ وَفَاطِمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ أَلَا تُصَلُّونَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّمَا أَنْفُسُنَا بِيَدِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَبْعَثَنَا بَعَثَنَا وَانْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ قُلْتُ لَهُ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُهُ وَهُوَ مُدْبِرٌ يَضْرِبُ فَخِذَهُ وَيَقُولُ وَكَانَ الْإِنْسَانُ أَكْثَرَ شَيْءٍ جَدَلًا

It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abi Talib (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) came to him and Fatimah at night and said "Why don't you get up and pray?" I said: O Messenger of Allah, our souls are in the hand of Allah and if He wills to wake us up, He will wake us up. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) left when I said that to him and I heard him, as he was leaving, strike his hand against his thigh and say: "But, man is ever more quarrelsome than anything" [al-Kahf 18:54].

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْأَزْدِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنِي أَخِي مُوسَى بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَذَ بِيَدِ حَسَنٍ وَحُسَيْنٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا فَقَالَ مَنْ أَحَبَّنِي وَأَحَبَّ هَذَيْنِ وَأَبَاهُمَا وَأُمَّهُمَا كَانَ مَعِي فِي دَرَجَتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

It was narrated from 'Ali bin Husain, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) took Hasan and Husain (RA) by the hand and said: "Whoever loves me and loves these two and their father and their mother will be with me at my level on the Day of Resurrection."
