حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُ بَاعَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: Allah's Apostle sold a Mudabbar.

حَدَّثَنِا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ وَأَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَخْبَرَاهُ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسْأَلُ عَنْ الْأَمَةِ تَزْنِي وَلَمْ تُحْصَنْ قَالَ اجْلِدُوهَا ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا ثُمَّ بِيعُوهَا بَعْدَ الثَّالِثَةِ أَوْ الرَّابِعَةِ

Narrated Zaid bin Khalid and Abu Huraira: that Allah's Apostle was asked about an unmarried slave-girl who committed illegal sexual intercourse. They heard him saying, "Flog her, and if she commits illegal sexual intercourse after that, flog her again, and on the third (or the fourth) offense, sell her."

Narrated Zaid bin Khalid and Abu Huraira: that Allah's Apostle was asked about an unmarried slave-girl who committed illegal sexual intercourse. حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي اللَّيْثُ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا زَنَتْ أَمَةُ أَحَدِکُمْ فَتَبَيَّنَ زِنَاهَا فَلْيَجْلِدْهَا الْحَدَّ وَلَا يُثَرِّبْ عَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَلْيَجْلِدْهَا الْحَدَّ وَلَا يُثَرِّبْ ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ الثَّالِثَةَ فَتَبَيَّنَ زِنَاهَا فَلْيَبِعْهَا وَلَوْ بِحَبْلٍ مِنْ شَعَرٍ

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard the Prophet saying, "If a slave-girl of yours commits illegal sexual intercourse and her illegal sexual intercourse is proved, she should be lashed, and after that nobody should blame her, and if she commits illegal sexual intercourse the second time, she should be lashed and nobody should blame her after that, and if she does the offense for the third time and her illegal sexual intercourse is proved, she should be sold even for a hair rope."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْغَفَّارِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْبَرَ فَلَمَّا فَتَحَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْحِصْنَ ذُکِرَ لَهُ جَمَالُ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ حُيَيِّ بْنِ أَخْطَبَ وَقَدْ قُتِلَ زَوْجُهَا وَکَانَتْ عَرُوسًا فَاصْطَفَاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِنَفْسِهِ فَخَرَجَ بِهَا حَتَّی بَلَغْنَا سَدَّ الرَّوْحَائِ حَلَّتْ فَبَنَی بِهَا ثُمَّ صَنَعَ حَيْسًا فِي نِطَعٍ صَغِيرٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ آذِنْ مَنْ حَوْلَکَ فَکَانَتْ تِلْکَ وَلِيمَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَی صَفِيَّةَ ثُمَّ خَرَجْنَا إِلَی الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَوِّي لَهَا وَرَائَهُ بِعَبَائَةٍ ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ عِنْدَ بَعِيرِهِ فَيَضَعُ رُکْبَتَهُ فَتَضَعُ صَفِيَّةُ رِجْلَهَا عَلَی رُکْبَتِهِ حَتَّی تَرْکَبَ

Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet came to Khaibar and when Allah made him victorious and he conquered the town by breaking the enemy's defense, the beauty of Safiya bint Huyai bin Akhtab was mentioned to him and her husband had been killed while she was a bride. Allah's Apostle selected her for himself and he set out in her company till he reached Sadd-ar-Rawha' where her menses were over and he married her. Then Hais (a kind of meal) was prepared and served on a small leather sheet (used for serving meals). Allah's Apostle then said to me, "Inform those who are around you (about the wedding banquet)." So that was the marriage banquet given by Allah's Apostle for (his marriage with) Safiya. After that we proceeded to Medina and I saw that Allah's Apostle was covering her with a cloak while she was behind him. Then he would sit beside his camel and let Safiya put her feet on his knees to ride (the camel).

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ عَطَائِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ وَهُوَ بِمَکَّةَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ حَرَّمَ بَيْعَ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْتَةِ وَالْخِنْزِيرِ وَالْأَصْنَامِ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ شُحُومَ الْمَيْتَةِ فَإِنَّهَا يُطْلَی بِهَا السُّفُنُ وَيُدْهَنُ بِهَا الْجُلُودُ وَيَسْتَصْبِحُ بِهَا النَّاسُ فَقَالَ لَا هُوَ حَرَامٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ ذَلِکَ قَاتَلَ اللَّهُ الْيَهُودَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَّا حَرَّمَ شُحُومَهَا جَمَلُوهُ ثُمَّ بَاعُوهُ فَأَکَلُوا ثَمَنَهُ قَالَ أَبُو عَاصِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ کَتَبَ إِلَيَّ عَطَائٌ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: I heard Allah's Apostle, in the year of the Conquest of Mecca, saying, "Allah and His Apostle made illegal the trade of alcohol, dead animals, pigs and idols." The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What about the fat of dead animals, for it was used for greasing the boats and the hides; and people use it for lights?" He said, "No, it is illegal." Allah's Apostle further said, "May Allah curse the Jews, for Allah made the fat (of animals) illegal for them, yet they melted the fat and sold it and ate its price."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِکٌ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَکْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَی عَنْ ثَمَنِ الْکَلْبِ وَمَهْرِ الْبَغِيِّ وَحُلْوَانِ الْکَاهِنِ

Narrated Abu Mas`ud Al-Ansari: Allah's Apostle forbade taking the price of a dog, money earned by prostitution and the earnings of a soothsayer.

حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَوْنُ بْنُ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ أَبِي اشْتَرَی حَجَّامًا فَأَمَرَ بِمَحَاجِمِهِ فَکُسِرَتْ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ ذَلِکَ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَی عَنْ ثَمَنِ الدَّمِ وَثَمَنِ الْکَلْبِ وَکَسْبِ الْأَمَةِ وَلَعَنَ الْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ وَآکِلَ الرِّبَا وَمُوکِلَهُ وَلَعَنَ الْمُصَوِّرَ

Narrated `Aun bin Abu Juhaifa: I saw my father buying a slave whose profession was cupping, and ordered that his instruments (of cupping) be broken. I asked him the reason for doing so. He replied, "Allah's Apostle prohibited taking money for blood, the price of a dog, and the earnings of a slave-girl by prostitution; he cursed her who tattoos and her who gets tattooed, the eater of Riba (usury), and the maker of pictures."

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ کَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَالنَّاسُ يُسْلِفُونَ فِي الثَّمَرِ الْعَامَ وَالْعَامَيْنِ أَوْ قَالَ عَامَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً شَکَّ إِسْمَاعِيلُ فَقَالَ مَنْ سَلَّفَ فِي تَمْرٍ فَلْيُسْلِفْ فِي کَيْلٍ مَعْلُومٍ وَوَزْنٍ مَعْلُومٍ

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Apostle came to Medina and the people used to pay in advance the price of fruits to be delivered within one or two years. (The sub-narrator is in doubt whether it was one to two years or two to three years.) The Prophet said, "Whoever pays money in advance for dates (to be delivered later) should pay it for known specified weight and measure (of the dates).

حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ کَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَهُمْ يُسْلِفُونَ بِالتَّمْرِ السَّنَتَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَسْلَفَ فِي شَيْئٍ فَفِي کَيْلٍ مَعْلُومٍ وَوَزْنٍ مَعْلُومٍ إِلَی أَجَلٍ مَعْلُومٍ

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ کَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ فِي کَيْلٍ مَعْلُومٍ وَوَزْنٍ مَعْلُومٍ إِلَی أَجَلٍ مَعْلُومٍ

Narrated Ibn Abi Najih: as above, saying, "He should pay the price in advance for a specified measure and for a specified period."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي الْمُجَالِدِ و حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُجَالِدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ أَوْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي الْمُجَالِدِ قَالَ اخْتَلَفَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شَدَّادِ بْنِ الْهَادِ وَأَبُو بُرْدَةَ فِي السَّلَفِ فَبَعَثُونِي إِلَی ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَی رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّا کُنَّا نُسْلِفُ عَلَی عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَکْرٍ وَعُمَرَ فِي الْحِنْطَةِ وَالشَّعِيرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَسَأَلْتُ ابْنَ أَبْزَی فَقَالَ مِثْلَ ذَلِکَ

Narrated Shu`ba: Muhammad or `Abdullah bin Abu Al-Mujalid said, "Abdullah bin Shaddad and Abu Burda differed regarding As-Salam, so they sent me to Ibn Abi `Aufa and I asked him about it. He replied, 'In the lifetime of Allah's Apostle, Abu Bakr and `Umar, we used to pay in advance the prices of wheat, barley, dried grapes and dates to be delivered later. I also asked Ibn Abza and he, too, replied as above.' "
