حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْمُنْکَدِرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ جِيئَ بِأَبِي إِلَی النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ مُثِّلَ بِهِ وَوُضِعَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَذَهَبْتُ أَکْشِفُ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ فَنَهَانِي قَوْمِي فَسَمِعَ صَوْتَ صَائِحَةٍ فَقِيلَ ابْنَةُ عَمْرٍو أَوْ أُخْتُ عَمْرٍو فَقَالَ لِمَ تَبْکِي أَوْ لَا تَبْکِي مَا زَالَتْ الْمَلَائِکَةُ تُظِلُّهُ بِأَجْنِحَتِهَا قُلْتُ لِصَدَقَةَ أَفِيهِ حَتَّی رُفِعَ قَالَ رُبَّمَا قَالَهُ

Narrated Jabir: My father's mutilated body was brought to the Prophet and was placed in front of him. I went to uncover his face but my companions forbade me. Then mourning cries of a lady were heard, and it was said that she was either the daughter or the sister of `Amr. The Prophet said, "Why is she crying?" Or said, "Do not cry, for the angels are still shading him with their wings." (Al-Bukhari asked Sadqa, a sub-narrator, "Does the narration include the expression: 'Till he was lifted?' " The latter replied, "Jabir may have said it.")

Hadith #15860

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِکٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا أَحَدٌ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَی الدُّنْيَا وَلَهُ مَا عَلَی الْأَرْضِ مِنْ شَيْئٍ إِلَّا الشَّهِيدُ يَتَمَنَّی أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَی الدُّنْيَا فَيُقْتَلَ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ لِمَا يَرَی مِنْ الْکَرَامَةِ

Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet said, "Nobody who enters Paradise likes to go back to the world even if he got everything on the earth, except a Mujahid who wishes to return to the world so that he may be martyred ten times because of the dignity he receives (from Allah)."

Hadith #15861

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَی عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ وَکَانَ کَاتِبَهُ قَالَ کَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي أَوْفَی رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ تَحْتَ ظِلَالِ السُّيُوفِ تَابَعَهُ الْأُوَيْسِيُّ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ عُقْبَةَ

Narrated `Abdullah bin Abi `Aufa: Allah's Apostle said, "Know that Paradise is under the shades of swords."

Hadith #15862

وَقَالَ اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَام لَأَطُوفَنَّ اللَّيْلَةَ عَلَى مِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ أَوْ تِسْعٍ وَتِسْعِينَ كُلُّهُنَّ يَأْتِي بِفَارِسٍ يُجَاهِدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ صَاحِبُهُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ فَلَمْ يَقُلْ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ فَلَمْ يَحْمِلْ مِنْهُنَّ إِلَّا امْرَأَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ جَاءَتْ بِشِقِّ رَجُلٍ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَوْ قَالَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَاهَدُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فُرْسَانًا أَجْمَعُونَ

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Once Solomon, son of David said, '(By Allah) Tonight I will have sexual intercourse with one hundred (or ninety-nine) women each of whom will give birth to a knight who will fight in Allah's Cause.' On that a (i.e. if Allah wills) but he did not say, 'Allah willing.' Therefore only one of those women conceived and gave birth to a half-man. By Him in Whose Hands Muhammad's life is, if he had said, "Allah willing', (he would have begotten sons) all of whom would have been knights striving in Allah's Cause."

Hadith #15863

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ کَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحْسَنَ النَّاسِ وَأَشْجَعَ النَّاسِ وَأَجْوَدَ النَّاسِ وَلَقَدْ فَزِعَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ فَکَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبَقَهُمْ عَلَی فَرَسٍ وَقَالَ وَجَدْنَاهُ بَحْرًا

Narrated Anas: The Prophet was the best, the bravest and the most generous of all the people. Once when the people of Medina got frightened, the Prophet rode a horse and went ahead of them and said, "We found this horse very fast."

Hadith #15864

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنِ ا بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ صَلَّی النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْعًا جَمِيعًا وَثَمَانِيًا جَمِيعًا

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet prayed seven rak`at together and eight rak`at together.

Hadith #15865

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ هُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ عَنْ الْحُسَيْنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُغَفَّلٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَغْلِبَنَّکُمْ الْأَعْرَابُ عَلَی اسْمِ صَلَاتِکُمْ الْمَغْرِبِ قَالَ وَتَقُولُ الْأَعْرَابُ هِيَ الْعِشَائُ

Narrated `Abdullah Al-Muzani: The Prophet said, "Do not be influenced by bedouins regarding the name of your Maghrib prayer which is called `Isha' by them."

Hadith #15866

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ سَالِمٌ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ صَلَّی لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةً صَلَاةَ الْعِشَائِ وَهِيَ الَّتِي يَدْعُو النَّاسُ الْعَتَمَةَ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَيْلَتَکُمْ هَذِهِ فَإِنَّ رَأْسَ مِائَةِ سَنَةٍ مِنْهَا لَا يَبْقَی مِمَّنْ هُوَ عَلَی ظَهْرِ الْأَرْضِ أَحَدٌ

Narrated `Abdullah: "One night Allah's Apostle led us in the `Isha' prayer and that is the one called Al-`Atma [??] by the people. After the completion of the prayer, he faced us and said, "Do you know the importance of this night? Nobody present on the surface of the earth tonight will be living after one hundred years from this night." (See Hadith No. 575).

Hadith #15867

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو هُوَ ابْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ سَأَلْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ کَانَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ وَالْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ حَيَّةٌ وَالْمَغْرِبَ إِذَا وَجَبَتْ وَالْعِشَائَ إِذَا کَثُرَ النَّاسُ عَجَّلَ وَإِذَا قَلُّوا أَخَّرَ وَالصُّبْحَ بِغَلَسٍ

Narrated Muhammad bin `Amr: We asked Jabir bin `Abdullah about the prayers of the Prophet . He said, "He used to pray Zuhr prayer at midday, the `Asr when the sun was still hot, and the Maghrib after sunset (at its stated time). The `Isha was offered early if the people gathered, and used to be delayed if their number was less; and the morning prayer was offered when it was still dark. "

Hadith #15868

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ بُکَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ قَالَتْ أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةً بِالْعِشَائِ وَذَلِکَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَفْشُوَ الْإِسْلَامُ فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ حَتَّی قَالَ عُمَرُ نَامَ النِّسَائُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ فَخَرَجَ فَقَالَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَسْجِدِ مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ غَيْرَکُمْ

Narrated `Aisha: Allah's Apostle once delayed the `Isha' prayer and that was during the days when Islam still had not spread. The Prophet did not come out till `Umar informed him that the women and children had slept. Then he came out and said to the people of the mosque: "None amongst the dwellers of the earth has been waiting for it (`Isha prayer) except you."

Hadith #15869

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَائِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَی قَالَ کُنْتُ أَنَا وَأَصْحَابِي الَّذِينَ قَدِمُوا مَعِي فِي السَّفِينَةِ نُزُولًا فِي بَقِيعِ بُطْحَانَ وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَکَانَ يَتَنَاوَبُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَائِ کُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ نَفَرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَوَافَقْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَا وَأَصْحَابِي وَلَهُ بَعْضُ الشُّغْلِ فِي بَعْضِ أَمْرِهِ فَأَعْتَمَ بِالصَّلَاةِ حَتَّی ابْهَارَّ اللَّيْلُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّی بِهِمْ فَلَمَّا قَضَی صَلَاتَهُ قَالَ لِمَنْ حَضَرَهُ عَلَی رِسْلِکُمْ أَبْشِرُوا إِنَّ مِنْ نِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ عَلَيْکُمْ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ النَّاسِ يُصَلِّي هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ غَيْرُکُمْ أَوْ قَالَ مَا صَلَّی هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ أَحَدٌ غَيْرُکُمْ لَا يَدْرِي أَيَّ الْکَلِمَتَيْنِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو مُوسَی فَرَجَعْنَا فَفَرِحْنَا بِمَا سَمِعْنَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Narrated Abu Musa: My companions, who came with me in the boat and I landed at a place called Baqi [??] Buthan [??] . The Prophet was in Medina at that time. One of us used to go to the Prophet by turns every night at the time of the `Isha prayer. Once I along with my companions went to the Prophet and he was busy in some of his affairs, so the `Isha' prayer was delayed to the middle of the night He then came out and led the people (in prayer). After finishing from the prayer, he addressed the people present there saying, "Be patient! Don't go away. Have the glad tiding. It is from the blessing of Allah upon you that none amongst mankind has prayed at this time save you." Or said, "None except you has prayed at this time." Abu Musa added, 'So we returned happily after what we heard from Allah's Apostle ."

Hadith #15870

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَامٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّائُ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ يَکْرَهُ النَّوْمَ قَبْلَ الْعِشَائِ وَالْحَدِيثَ بَعْدَهَا

Narrated Abu Barza: Allah's Apostle disliked to sleep before the `Isha' prayer and to talk after it.
