حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعَافَی عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْکَةَ قَالَ أَوْتَرَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بَعْدَ الْعِشَائِ بِرَکْعَةٍ وَعِنْدَهُ مَوْلًی لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَأَتَی ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ دَعْهُ فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ صَحِبَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Narrated Ibn Abi Mulaika: Somebody said to Ibn `Abbas, "Can you speak to the chief of the believers Muwaiya, as he does not pray except one rak`a as witr?" Ibn `Abbas replied, "He is a Faqih (i.e. a learned man who can give religious verdicts) ."

Hadith #17651

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْکَةَ قِيلَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ هَلْ لَکَ فِي أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَإِنَّهُ مَا أَوْتَرَ إِلَّا بِوَاحِدَةٍ قَالَ أَصَابَ إِنَّهُ فَقِيهٌ

Narrated Humran bin `Abbas: Muawiya said (to the people), "You offer a prayer which we, who were the companions of the Prophet never saw the Prophet offering, and he forbade its offering," i.e. the two rak`at after the compulsory `Asr prayer.

Hadith #17652

حَدَّثَنِا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حُمْرَانَ بْنَ أَبَانَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ إِنَّکُمْ لَتُصَلُّونَ صَلَاةً لَقَدْ صَحِبْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَا رَأَيْنَاهُ يُصَلِّيهَا وَلَقَدْ نَهَی عَنْهُمَا يَعْنِي الرَّکْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ

Narrated Al-Miswar bin Makhrama: Allah's Apostle said, "Fatima is a part of me, and whoever makes her angry, makes me angry."

Hadith #17653

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْکَةَ عَنْ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَاطِمَةُ بِضْعَةٌ مِنِّي فَمَنْ أَغْضَبَهَا أَغْضَبَنِي

Narrated Abu Salama: `Aisha said, "Once Allah's Apostle said (to me), 'O Aish (`Aisha)! This is Gabriel greeting you.' I said, 'Peace and Allah's Mercy and Blessings be on him, you see what I don't see' " She was addressing Allah 's Apostle.

Hadith #17654

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يُونُسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا:‏‏‏‏ "يَا عَائِشَ هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ يُقْرِئُكِ السَّلَامَ"، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ،‏‏‏‏ تَرَى مَا لَا أَرَى،‏‏‏‏ تُرِيدُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ".

Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari: Allah's Apostle said, "Many amongst men attained perfection but amongst women none attained the perfection except Mary, the daughter of `Imran and Asiya, the wife of Pharaoh. And the superiority of `Aisha to other women is like the superiority of Tharid (i.e. an Arabic dish) to other meals."

Hadith #17655

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ و حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَی الْأَشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَمَلَ مِنْ الرِّجَالِ کَثِيرٌ وَلَمْ يَکْمُلْ مِنْ النِّسَائِ إِلَّا مَرْيَمُ بِنْتُ عِمْرَانَ وَآسِيَةُ امْرَأَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ وَفَضْلُ عَائِشَةَ عَلَی النِّسَائِ کَفَضْلِ الثَّرِيدِ عَلَی سَائِرِ الطَّعَامِ

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle said, "The superiority of `Aisha over other women is like the superiority of Tharid to other meals."

Hadith #17656

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَن أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِکٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فَضْلُ عَائِشَةَ عَلَی النِّسَائِ کَفَضْلِ الثَّرِيدِ عَلَی سَائِرِ الطَّعَامِ

Narrated Al-Qasim bin Muhammad: Once `Aisha became sick and Ibn `Abbas went to see her and said, "O mother of the believers! You are leaving for truthful fore-runners i.e. for Allah's Apostle and Abu Bakr.

Hadith #17657

حَدَّثَنِا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ اشْتَکَتْ فَجَائَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ تَقْدَمِينَ عَلَی فَرَطِ صِدْقٍ عَلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَی أَبِي بَکْرٍ

Narrated Abu Wail: When `Ali sent `Ammar and Al-Hasan to (the people of) Kufa to urge them to fight, `Ammar addressed them saying, "I know that she (i.e. `Aisha) is the wife of the Prophet in this world and in the Hereafter (world to come), but Allah has put you to test, whether you will follow Him (i.e. Allah) or her."

Hadith #17658

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ الْحَکَمِ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ قَالَ لَمَّا بَعَثَ عَلِيٌّ عَمَّارًا وَالْحَسَنَ إِلَی الْکُوفَةِ لِيَسْتَنْفِرَهُمْ خَطَبَ عَمَّارٌ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّهَا زَوْجَتُهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَلَکِنَّ اللَّهَ ابْتَلَاکُمْ لِتَتَّبِعُوهُ أَوْ إِيَّاهَا

Narrated `Aisha: That she borrowed a necklace from Asma' and it was lost. Allah's Apostle sent some of his companions to look for it. During their journey the time of prayer was due and they prayed without ablution. When they returned to the Prophet they complained about it. So the Divine Verse of Tayammum was revealed. Usaid bin Hudair said (to `Aisha), "May Allah reward you handsomely. By Allah, whenever you have a difficulty, Allah took you out of it and brought with it, a Blessing for the Muslims."

Hadith #17659

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهَا اسْتَعَارَتْ مِنْ أَسْمَائَ قِلَادَةً فَهَلَکَتْ فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَاسًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فِي طَلَبِهَا فَأَدْرَکَتْهُمْ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّوْا بِغَيْرِ وُضُوئٍ فَلَمَّا أَتَوْا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَکَوْا ذَلِکَ إِلَيْهِ فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ التَّيَمُّمِ فَقَالَ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ جَزَاکِ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا فَوَاللَّهِ مَا نَزَلَ بِکِ أَمْرٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَکِ مِنْهُ مَخْرَجًا وَجَعَلَ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ فِيهِ بَرَکَةً

Narrated Hisham's father: When Allah's Apostle was in his fatal illness, he started visiting his wives and saying, "Where will I be tomorrow?" He was anxious to be in `Aisha's home. `Aisha said, "So when it was my day, the Prophet became silent (no longer asked the question).

Hadith #17660

حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا کَانَ فِي مَرَضِهِ جَعَلَ يَدُورُ فِي نِسَائِهِ وَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ أَنَا غَدًا أَيْنَ أَنَا غَدًا حِرْصًا عَلَی بَيْتِ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَلَمَّا کَانَ يَوْمِي سَکَنَ

Narrated Hisham's father: The people used to send presents to the Prophet on the day of `Aisha's turn. `Aisha said, "My companions (i.e. the other wives of the Prophet) gathered in the house of Um Salama and said, "0 Um Salama! By Allah, the people choose to send presents on the day of `Aisha's turn and we too, love the good (i.e. presents etc.) as `Aisha does. You should tell Allah's Apostle to tell the people to send their presents to him wherever he may be, or wherever his turn may be." Um Salama said that to the Prophet and he turned away from her, and when the Prophet returned to her (i.e. Um Salama), she repeated the same, and the Prophet again turned away, and when she told him the same for the third time, the Prophet said, "O Um Salama! Don't trouble me by harming `Aisha, for by Allah, the Divine Inspiration never came to me while I was under the blanket of any woman amongst you except her."

Hadith #17661

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ کَانَ النَّاسُ يَتَحَرَّوْنَ بِهَدَايَاهُمْ يَوْمَ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَاجْتَمَعَ صَوَاحِبِي إِلَی أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَقُلْنَ يَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ النَّاسَ يَتَحَرَّوْنَ بِهَدَايَاهُمْ يَوْمَ عَائِشَةَ وَإِنَّا نُرِيدُ الْخَيْرَ کَمَا تُرِيدُهُ عَائِشَةُ فَمُرِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَأْمُرَ النَّاسَ أَنْ يُهْدُوا إِلَيْهِ حَيْثُ مَا کَانَ أَوْ حَيْثُ مَا دَارَ قَالَتْ فَذَکَرَتْ ذَلِکَ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَلَمَّا عَادَ إِلَيَّ ذَکَرْتُ لَهُ ذَاکَ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَلَمَّا کَانَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ ذَکَرْتُ لَهُ فَقَالَ يَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ لَا تُؤْذِينِي فِي عَائِشَةَ فَإِنَّهُ وَاللَّهِ مَا نَزَلَ عَلَيَّ الْوَحْيُ وَأَنَا فِي لِحَافِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْکُنَّ غَيْرِهَا

Narrated Ghailan bin Jarir: I asked Anas, "Tell me about the name 'Al-Ansar.; Did you call yourselves by it or did Allah call you by it?" He said, "Allah called us by it." We used to visit Anas (at Basra) and he used to narrate to us the virtues and deeds of the Ansar, and he used to address me or a person from the tribe of Al-Azd and say, "Your tribe did so-and-so on such-and-such a day."
