حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ عَنْ سِمَاکِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ کَانَ فِي سَاقَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حُمُوشَةٌ وَکَانَ لَا يَضْحَکُ إِلَّا تَبَسُّمًا وَکُنْتُ إِذَا نَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ قُلْتُ أَکْحَلُ الْعَيْنَيْنِ وَلَيْسَ بِأَکْحَلَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ

Narrated Jabir bin Samurah: The two shins of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) were thin, and he would not laugh except as a smile, and whenever I looked at him I would say: He put kohl on his eyes,' but he (ﷺ) did not use kohl.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاکِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ کَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَلِيعَ الْفَمِ أَشْکَلَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ مَنْهُوشَ الْعَقِبِ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

Narrated Jabir bin Samurah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had a wide mouth (Dali' Al-Fam), his eyes were Ashkal, and he had thin heals (Manhus Al-'Aqib).

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاکِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَلِيعَ الْفَمِ أَشْکَلَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ مَنْهُوشَ الْعَقِبِ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ قُلْتُ لِسِمَاکٍ مَا ضَلِيعُ الْفَمِ قَالَ وَاسِعُ الْفَمِ قُلْتُ مَا أَشْکَلُ الْعَيْنَيْنِ قَالَ طَوِيلُ شَقِّ الْعَيْنِ قَالَ قُلْتُ مَا مَنْهُوشُ الْعَقِبِ قَالَ قَلِيلُ اللَّحْمِ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

Narrated Jabir bin Samurah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had a wide mouth (Dali' Al-Fam), his eyes were Ashkal, and he had thin heels (Manhus Al-'Aqib). Shu'bah (one of the narrators) said: I said to Simak: 'What is Dali' Al-Fam? ' He said: 'A wide mouth.' I said: 'What is Ashkal Al-'Ainain? ' He said: 'Having long eyes.' [He said:] I said: 'What is Manhus Al-'Aqib? ' He said: 'Little flesh.'

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي يُونُسَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ مَا رَأَيْتُ شَيْئًا أَحْسَنَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَأَنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَجْرِي فِي وَجْهِهِ وَمَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَسْرَعَ فِي مِشْيَتِهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَأَنَّمَا الْأَرْضُ تُطْوَی لَهُ إِنَّا لَنُجْهِدُ أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنَّهُ لَغَيْرُ مُکْتَرِثٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ

Narrated Abu Hurairah: I have not seen anything more beautiful than the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). It was as if the sun flowed upon his face. And I have not seen anyone quicker in his walking than the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). It was as if the earth was made easy for him. We would be exerting ourselves while he would not be struggling.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ الْأَنْبِيَائُ فَإِذَا مُوسَی ضَرْبٌ مِنْ الرِّجَالِ کَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوئَةَ وَرَأَيْتُ عِيسَی ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ فَإِذَا أَقْرَبُ النَّاسِ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا عُرْوَةُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ وَرَأَيْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَإِذَا أَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا صَاحِبُکُمْ يَعْنِي نَفْسَهُ وَرَأَيْتُ جِبْرَائِيلُ فَإِذَا أَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا دِحْيَةُ هُوَ ابْنُ خَلِيفَةَ الْکَلْبِيُّ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ

Narrated Jabir: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The Prophets were presented to me, and Musa was a thin man, it was as if he was from the men of Shanu'ah. And I saw 'Eisa bin Mariam, and the closest of the people in resemblance to him. from those I have seen, is 'Urwah bin Mas'ud. And I saw Ibrahim, and the closest of the people in resemblance to him, from those I have seen, is your companion - meaning himself - And I saw Jibril, and the closest of the people in resemblance to him, from those I have seen, is Dihyah. [And he is Ibn Khalifah Al-Kalbi.]
