حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْفَلَّاسُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ سَلْمُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي حَزْمٍ الْقُطَعِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَرَأَ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا قَالَ قَدْ قَالَ النَّاسُ ثُمَّ کَفَرَ أَکْثَرُهُمْ فَمَنْ مَاتَ عَلَيْهَا فَهُوَ مِمَّنْ اسْتَقَامَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ يَقُولُ رَوَی عَفَّانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلِيٍّ حَدِيثًا وَيُرْوَی فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَکْرٍ وَعُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا مَعْنَی اسْتَقَامُوا

Narrated Anas bin Malik: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited: Verily those who say: Our Lord is Allah, and then they stand firm (41:30). - He said: People have said it, then most of them disbelieved, so whoever dies upon it, then he is among those who stood firm.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ قَال سَمِعْتُ طَاوُسًا قَالَ سُئِلَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ قُلْ لَا أَسْأَلُکُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَی فَقَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ قُرْبَی آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَعَلِمْتَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَکُنْ بَطْنٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ إِلَّا کَانَ لَهُ فِيهِمْ قَرَابَةٌ فَقَالَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَصِلُوا مَا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَکُمْ مِنْ الْقَرَابَةِ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

Narrated Tawus: Ibn 'Abbas was asked about this Ayah: Say: No reward do I ask of you for this except to be kind for my kinship with you (42:23). So Sa'eed bin Jubair said: 'To be kind to the family of Muhammad.' Ibn 'Abbas replied: 'You know that there was no family of the Quraish except that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had some relatives among them.' He said: 'Except that you should uphold ties of kinship that exist between me and you.'

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَازِعِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ مِنْ بَنِي مُرَّةَ قَالَ قَدِمْتُ الْکُوفَةَ فَأُخْبِرْتُ عَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ فِيهِ لَمُعْتَبَرًا فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَهُوَ مَحْبُوسٌ فِي دَارِهِ الَّتِي قَدْ کَانَ بَنَی قَالَ وَإِذَا کُلُّ شَيْئٍ مِنْهُ قَدْ تَغَيَّرَ مِنْ الْعَذَابِ وَالضَّرْبِ وَإِذَا هُوَ فِي قُشَاشٍ فَقُلْتُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ يَا بِلَالُ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُکَ وَأَنْتَ تَمُرُّ بِنَا تُمْسِکُ بِأَنْفِکَ مِنْ غَيْرِ غُبَارٍ وَأَنْتَ فِي حَالِکَ هَذَا الْيَوْمَ فَقَالَ مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ فَقُلْتُ مِنْ بَنِي مُرَّةَ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ فَقَالَ أَلَا أُحَدِّثُکَ حَدِيثًا عَسَی اللَّهُ أَنْ يَنْفَعَکَ بِهِ قُلْتُ هَاتِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَبُو بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَبِي مُوسَی أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يُصِيبُ عَبْدًا نَکْبَةٌ فَمَا فَوْقَهَا أَوْ دُونَهَا إِلَّا بِذَنْبٍ وَمَا يَعْفُو اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَکْثَرُ قَالَ وَقَرَأَ وَمَا أَصَابَکُمْ مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا کَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيکُمْ وَيَعْفُو عَنْ کَثِيرٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ

Narrated 'Ubaidullah bin Al-Wazi': A Shaikh from Banu Murrah narrated to me, he said: 'I arrived in Al-Kufah and was informed about Bilal bin Abi Burdah so I said: Indeed there is a lesson in him so I went to him while he was imprisoned in his home, which he had built.' He said: 'After everything that had happened to him he had changed due to the punishment and the beatings, and now he was living in isolation. So I said: All praise is due to Allah O Bilal! I have seen you passing you by us holding your nose, and it was not from the dust! And today you are in this state.' So he said: 'Where are you from?' I said: 'From Banu Murrah bin 'Abbad.' So he said: 'Shall I not narrate a Hadith to you, perhaps Allah will benefit you by it?' I said: 'Go ahead.' He said: 'My father, Abu Burdah narrated from his father Abu Musa, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: No worshiper suffers a calamity nor what is worse than that or less, except due to a sin, and what Allah pardons as a result of it is more. He (Abu Musa) said: And he recited: And whatever misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned (42:30).

شَيْخٌ مِنْ بَنِي مُرَّةَ ← عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَازِعِ، ← عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، ← عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ وَيَعْلَی بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ حَجَّاجِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا ضَلَّ قَوْمٌ بَعْدَ هُدًی کَانُوا عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا أُوتُوا الْجَدَلَ ثُمَّ تَلَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ مَا ضَرَبُوهُ لَکَ إِلَّا جَدَلًا بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ خَصِمُونَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ إِنَّمَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ حَجَّاجِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ ثِقَةٌ مُقَارِبُ الْحَدِيثِ وَأَبُو غَالِبٍ اسْمُهُ حَزَوَّرُ

Narrated Abu Umamah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: No people go astray after having been guided, but they resort to arguing. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited this Ayah: '...They quoted not the above example except for argument. Nay! But they are quarrelsome people... (43:58)'

أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ← أَبِي غَالِبٍ، ← حَجَّاجِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ وَيَعْلَی بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ← عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِکِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْجُدِّيُّ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ وَمَنْصُورٍ سَمِعَا أَبَا الضُّحَی يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ جَائَ رَجُلٌ إِلَی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ قَاصًّا يَقُصُّ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ الْأَرْضِ الدُّخَانُ فَيَأْخُذُ بِمَسَامِعِ الْکُفَّارِ وَيَأْخُذُ الْمُؤْمِنَ کَهَيْئَةِ الزُّکَامِ قَالَ فَغَضِبَ وَکَانَ مُتَّکِئًا فَجَلَسَ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِذَا سُئِلَ أَحَدُکُمْ عَمَّا يَعْلَمُ فَلْيَقُلْ بِهِ قَالَ مَنْصُورٌ فَلْيُخْبِرْ بِهِ وَإِذَا سُئِلَ عَمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُ فَلْيَقُلْ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ فَإِنَّ مِنْ عِلْمِ الرَّجُلِ إِذَا سُئِلَ عَمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُ أَنْ يَقُولَ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَی قَالَ لِنَبِيِّهِ قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُکُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنْ الْمُتَکَلِّفِينَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا رَأَی قُرَيْشًا اسْتَعْصَوْا عَلَيْهِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَيْهِمْ بِسَبْعٍ کَسَبْعِ يُوسُفَ فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ سَنَةٌ فَأَحْصَتْ کُلَّ شَيْئٍ حَتَّی أَکَلُوا الْجُلُودَ وَالْمَيْتَةَ وَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا الْعِظَامَ قَالَ وَجَعَلَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ الْأَرْضِ کَهَيْئَةِ الدُّخَانِ فَأَتَاهُ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ قَوْمَکَ قَدْ هَلَکُوا فَادْعُ اللَّهَ لَهُمْ قَالَ فَهَذَا لِقَوْلِهِ يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَائُ بِدُخَانٍ مُبِينٍ يَغْشَی النَّاسَ هَذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ قَالَ مَنْصُورٌ هَذَا لِقَوْلِهِ رَبَّنَا اکْشِفْ عَنَّا الْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ فَهَلْ يُکْشَفُ عَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ قَدْ مَضَی الْبَطْشَةُ وَاللِّزَامُ وَالدُّخَانُ و قَالَ أَحَدُهُمْ الْقَمَرُ وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ الرُّومُ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی وَاللِّزَامُ يَعْنِي يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ قَالَ وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

Narrated Masruq: A man came to 'Abdullah and said: 'A story teller has said that a smoke will appear from the earth, taking the hearing of disbelievers and manifesting as a cold for the believers.' He became angry, and since he was reclining, he sat up then said: 'When one of you is asked about something he knows, then let him speak accordingly' - Mansur (one of the narrators) narrated it as: Then let him inform of it - And when asked about what he does not know, then let him say: Allah knows best. For indeed, it is part of a man's knowledge, that when he is asked about something he does not know, he says: Allah knows best. For verily Allah, Most High said to His Prophet: Say: No wage do I ask of you for this, nor am I one of the pretenders (38:86). When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw that the Quraish were behaving stubbornly with him, he said: O Allah! Assist me against them with seven (years of famine) like the seven of Yusuf. So He punished them with drought making everything barren, until they ate skins and carcasses - one of them said: bones. He said: 'And it appeared that smoke was coming out of the earth. So Abu Sufyan came to him and said: Verily your people are being destroyed, so supplicate to Allah for them. He said: So this is about His saying: 'The Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke, covering the people, this is a painful torment (44:10 & 11).' Mansur narrated it as: So this is about His saying: Our Lord! Remove the torment from us, really we shall become believers (44:12). - So shall the punishment be removed from them in the Hereafter? Al-Batshah (humiliated defeat in Badr), Al-Lizam (disbeliever captives from Badr), the smoke, - one of them said: The moon the other said: The Romans have all passed.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبَانَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ إِلَّا وَلَهُ بَابَانِ بَابٌ يَصْعَدُ مِنْهُ عَمَلُهُ وَبَابٌ يَنْزِلُ مِنْهُ رِزْقُهُ فَإِذَا مَاتَ بَکَيَا عَلَيْهِ فَذَلِکَ قَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَمَا بَکَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ السَّمَائُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَا کَانُوا مُنْظَرِينَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ مَرْفُوعًا إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَمُوسَی بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الرَّقَاشِيُّ يُضَعَّفَانِ فِي الْحَدِيثِ

Narrated Anas bin Malik: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: There is no believer except that he has two doors: A door through which his deeds ascend, and a door through which his sustenance descends. So when he dies they weep for him. That is the meaning of the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime: And the heavens and the earth wept not for them, nor were they given respite (44:29).

اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ، ← يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبَانَ ← مُوسَی بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ← وَكِيعٌ، ← الْحُسَیْنُ بْنُ حُرَیْثٍ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْکِنْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَيَّاةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ أَخِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ قَالَ لَمَّا أُرِيدَ عُثْمَانُ جَائَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُثْمَانُ مَا جَائَ بِکَ قَالَ جِئْتُ فِي نَصْرِکَ قَالَ اخْرُجْ إِلَی النَّاسِ فَاطْرُدْهُمْ عَنِّي فَإِنَّکَ خَارِجٌ خَيْرٌ لِي مِنْکَ دَاخِلٌ فَخَرَجَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ إِلَی النَّاسِ فَقَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّهُ کَانَ اسْمِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فُلَانٌ فَسَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ وَنَزَلَ فِيَّ آيَاتٌ مِنْ کِتَابِ اللَّهِ نَزَلَتْ فِيَّ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَی مِثْلِهِ فَآمَنَ وَاسْتَکْبَرْتُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ وَنَزَلَتْ فِيَّ قُلْ کَفَی بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَکُمْ وَمَنْ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ الْکِتَابِ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ سَيْفًا مَغْمُودًا عَنْکُمْ وَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِکَةَ قَدْ جَاوَرَتْکُمْ فِي بَلَدِکُمْ هَذَا الَّذِي نَزَلَ فِيهِ نَبِيُّکُمْ فَاللَّهَ اللَّهَ فِي هَذَا الرَّجُلِ أَنْ تَقْتُلُوهُ فَوَاللَّهِ إِنْ قَتَلْتُمُوهُ لَتَطْرُدُنَّ جِيرَانَکُمْ الْمَلَائِکَةَ وَلَتَسُلُّنَّ سَيْفَ اللَّهِ الْمَغْمُودَ عَنْکُمْ فَلَا يُغْمَدُ إِلَی يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ فَقَالُوا اقْتُلُوا الْيَهُودِيَّ وَاقْتُلُوا عُثْمَانَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ شُعَيْبُ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ

Narrated 'Abdul-Malik bin 'Umair: from the nephew of 'Abdullah bin Salam who said: When they were after 'Uthman, 'Abdullah bin Salam came, and 'Uthman said to him: 'What did you come for?' He said: 'I came to assist you.' He said: 'Go to the people to repel their advances against me. For verily your going is better to me than your entering here.' He said: So 'Abdullah bin Salam went to the people and said: 'O you people! During Jahiliyyah I was named so-and-so, then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) named me 'Abdullah, and some Ayat from the Book of Allah were revealed about me. (The following) was revealed about me: 'A witness from among the Children of Isra'il has testified to something similar, and believed while you rejected. Verily, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. (46:10) And (the following) was revealed about me: 'Sufficient as a witness between me and you is Allah, and those too who have knowledge of the Scripture. (13:43) Allah has sheathed the sword from you and the angels are your neighbors in this city of yours, the one in which the Revelation came to your Prophet. But by Allah! (Fear) Allah regarding this man; if you kill him, then by Allah! If you kill him, then you will cause the angels to remove your goodness from you, and to raise Allah's sheathed sword against you, such that it will never be sheathed again until the Day of Resurrection.' He said: They said: 'Kill the Jew and kill 'Uthman.'

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْبَصْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَائٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ کَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا رَأَی مَخِيلَةً أَقْبَلَ وَأَدْبَرَ فَإِذَا مَطَرَتْ سُرِّيَ عَنْهُ قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَقَالَ وَمَا أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهُ کَمَا قَالَ اللَّه تَعَالَی فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا هَذَا عَارِضٌ مُمْطِرُنَا قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ

Narrated 'Aishah [may Allah be pleased with her]: When the Prophet (ﷺ) saw storm clouds he would pace back and forth. And when it rained, he would relax. She said: I said something to him about that, and he said: 'What do I know? Maybe it is as Allah, Most High said: Then, when they saw it as a dense cloud approaching their valleys, they said: This is a cloud bringing us rain (46:24). '

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ هَلْ صَحِبَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ الْجِنِّ مِنْکُمْ أَحَدٌ قَالَ مَا صَحِبَهُ مِنَّا أَحَدٌ وَلَکِنْ قَدْ افْتَقَدْنَاهُ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ وَهُوَ بِمَکَّةَ فَقُلْنَا اغْتِيلَ أَوْ اسْتُطِيرَ مَا فُعِلَ بِهِ فَبِتْنَا بِشَرِّ لَيْلَةٍ بَاتَ بِهَا قَوْمٌ حَتَّی إِذَا أَصْبَحْنَا أَوْ کَانَ فِي وَجْهِ الصُّبْحِ إِذَا نَحْنُ بِهِ يَجِيئُ مِنْ قِبَلِ حِرَائَ قَالَ فَذَکَرُوا لَهُ الَّذِي کَانُوا فِيهِ فَقَالَ أَتَانِي دَاعِي الْجِنِّ فَأَتَيْتُهُمْ فَقَرَأْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَانْطَلَقَ فَأَرَانَا آثَارَهُمْ وَآثَارَ نِيرَانِهِمْ قَالَ الشَّعْبِيُّ وَسَأَلُوهُ الزَّادَ وَکَانُوا مِنْ جِنِّ الْجَزِيرَةِ فَقَالَ کُلُّ عَظْمٍ يُذْکَرُ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ يَقَعُ فِي أَيْدِيکُمْ أَوْفَرَ مَا کَانَ لَحْمًا وَکُلُّ بَعْرَةٍ أَوْ رَوْثَةٍ عَلَفٌ لِدَوَابِّکُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَا تَسْتَنْجُوا بِهِمَا فَإِنَّهُمَا زَادُ إِخْوَانِکُمْ الْجِنِّ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

Narrated Ash-Sha'bi: that 'Alqamah said: I said to Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him: 'Did any of you accompany the Prophet (ﷺ) on the Night of the Jinn?' He said: 'None of us accompanied him. One night, while he was in Makkah, we could not find him. We said: He has been murdered [or] snatched, what has happened to him? So we spent the worst night a people could spend until the morning' or 'it was about dawn when we saw him coming from the direction of Hira.' He said: 'They told him about what they had went through.' So he (ﷺ) said: 'Someone from the Jinn came to invite me, so I went to them to recite for them.' He said: So we went and saw their tracks and the traces of their camp fire.' Ash-Sha'bi said: They asked him about their provisions - and they were Jinns of Mesopotamia - so he said: 'Every bone upon which Allah's name has not been mentioned, that falls into your hands, and every dropping of dung is fodder for your beasts.' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Do not perform Istinja with them for indeed they are provisions for your brothers among the Jinns.

عَلْقَمَةَ، ← الشَّعْبِيِّ ← دَاوُدَ ← إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ← عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْبِکَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَيُرْوَی عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَيْضًا عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ وَرَوَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

Narrated Az-Zuhri: from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurairah [may Allah be pleased with him] (regarding): 'And seek forgiveness for your sins, and also for the believing men and women (47:19).' That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Indeed I ask Allah for forgiveness seventy times a day.

اَبِیْ سَلَمَۃَ ← الزُّهْرِيِّ، ← مَعْمَرٌ، ← عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ← عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا شَيْخٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ عَنْ الْعَلَائِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ تَلَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ وَإِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَکُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَکُونُوا أَمْثَالَکُمْ قَالُوا وَمَنْ يُسْتَبْدَلُ بِنَا قَالَ فَضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَی مَنْکِبِ سَلْمَانَ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَذَا وَقَوْمُهُ هَذَا وَقَوْمُهُ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ فِي إِسْنَادِهِ مَقَالٌ وَقَدْ رَوَی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَيْضًا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ الْعَلَائِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ

Narrated Abu Hurairah: One day, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited this Ayah: 'And if you turn away, He will replace you with other people; then they will not be like you (47:38).' They said: 'And who will replace us?' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) patted the shoulder of Salman, then he said: 'This one and his people, this one and his people.'

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← أَبِيهِ ← الْعَلَائِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ← شَيْخٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ← عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ← عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ نَجِيحٍ عَنْ الْعَلَائِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ هَؤُلَائِ الَّذِينَ ذَکَرَ اللَّهُ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْنَا اسْتُبْدِلُوا بِنَا ثُمَّ لَمْ يَکُونُوا أَمْثَالَنَا قَالَ وَکَانَ سَلْمَانُ بِجَنْبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخِذَ سَلْمَانَ وَقَالَ هَذَا وَأَصْحَابُهُ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ کَانَ الْإِيمَانُ مَنُوطًا بِالثُّرَيَّا لَتَنَاوَلَهُ رِجَالٌ مِنْ فَارِسَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ نَجِيحٍ هُوَ وَالِدُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمَدِينِيِّ وَقَدْ رَوَی عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْکَثِيرَ و حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ إِسْمَعِيلَ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ نَجِيحٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ و حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ الْعَلَائِ نَحْوَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ مُعَلَّقٌ بِالثُّرَيَّا

Narrated Abu Hurairah: Some people among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who are these people whom Allah mentioned, that if we turn away they would replace us, then they would not be like us?' He said: And Salman was beside the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) patted Salman's thigh and said: 'This one and his companions, and by the One in Whose Hand is my soul! If faith were suspended from Pleiades, then it would be reached by men from Persia.'
