حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ دَاوُدَ الْأَوْدِيِّ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَی الصَّحِيفَةِ الَّتِي عَلَيْهَا خَاتَمُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلْيَقْرَأْ هَذِهِ الْآيَاتِ قُلْ تَعَالَوْا أَتْلُ مَا حَرَّمَ رَبُّکُمْ عَلَيْکُمْ الْآيَةَ إِلَی قَوْلِهِ لَعَلَّکُمْ تَتَّقُونَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud: Whoever wishes to look at the Sahifah which Muhammad (ﷺ) placed his seal upon, then let him look at these Ayat, 'Say: Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited you from... up to His saying That you may have Taqwa (6:151-153).'

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَکِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَی عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَوْ يَأْتِيَ بَعْضُ آيَاتِ رَبِّکَ قَالَ طُلُوعُ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ وَرَوَاهُ بَعْضُهُمْ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ

Narrated 'Atiyyah: from Abu Sa'eed, from the Prophet (ﷺ), regarding the saying of Allah, Most High: Or some of the Signs of your Lord come (6:158). He (ﷺ) said: The sun's rising from its setting place.

اَبِیْ سَعِیْدٍ ← عَطِيَّةَ ← ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَی ← أَبِي ← سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَکِيعٍ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَی بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ فُضَيْلِ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ثَلَاثٌ إِذَا خَرَجْنَ لَمْ يَنْفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَکُنْ آمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ الْآيَةَ الدَّجَّالُ وَالدَّابَّةُ وَطُلُوعُ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ الْمَغْرِبِ أَوْ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَأَبُو حَازِمٍ هُوَ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ الْکُوفِيُّ وَاسْمُهُ سَلْمَانُ مَوْلَی عَزَّةَ الْأَشْجَعِيَّةِ

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: There are three, for which when they appear, a soul will not benefit by its faith, if it did not believe before the Signs: Ad-Dajjal, the Beast, and the rising of the sun from its setting place - or from the west.

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← أَبِي حَازِمٍ ← فُضَيْلُ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ، ← يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ← عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَقَوْلُهُ الْحَقُّ إِذَا هَمَّ عَبْدِي بِحَسَنَةٍ فَاکْتُبُوهَا لَهُ حَسَنَةً فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا فَاکْتُبُوهَا لَهُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا وَإِذَا هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَا تَکْتُبُوهَا فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا فَاکْتُبُوهَا بِمِثْلِهَا فَإِنْ تَرَکَهَا وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ لَمْ يَعْمَلْ بِهَا فَاکْتُبُوهَا لَهُ حَسَنَةً ثُمَّ قَرَأَ مَنْ جَائَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Allah, Blessed and Most High, has said - and His saying is the Truth: 'When My slave considers doing something good then write it as one good for him. If he acts upon it then write ten of the same for him. And when he considers doing something evil, then do not write it. If he acts upon it, then write it. If he leaves it - and perhaps he said: if he does not act upon it, then write a good reward for him.' Then he [the Prophet (ﷺ)] recited: Whoever comes with a good, then he shall have ten the like thereof (6:160).

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← الْأَعْرَجِ ← أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، ← سُفْيَانَ، ← ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّی رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُ دَکًّا قَالَ حَمَّادٌ هَکَذَا وَأَمْسَکَ سُلَيْمَانُ بِطَرَفِ إِبْهَامِهِ عَلَی أُنْمُلَةِ إِصْبَعِهِ الْيُمْنَی قَالَ فَسَاخَ الْجَبَلُ وَخَرَّ مُوسَی صَعِقًا قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ

Narrated Sulaiman bin Harb: Hammad bin Salamah narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, that the Prophet (ﷺ) recited this Ayah: So when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He made it collapse to dust (7:143) - Hammad said: Like this. Sulaiman held his thumb over the tip of his finger on the right hand (so that only the tip of one finger was protruding) - and he [the Prophet (ﷺ)] said: So the mountain fainted. 'And Musa fell down unconscious.'

أَنَسٍ، ← ثَابِتٍ، ← حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ← سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ← عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ

حَدَّثَنَا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِکُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ ابْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ سُئِلَ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّکَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَی أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّکُمْ قَالُوا بَلَی شَهِدْنَا أَنْ تَقُولُوا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّا کُنَّا عَنْ هَذَا غَافِلِينَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسْأَلُ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ آدَمَ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ ظَهْرَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَأَخْرَجَ مِنْهُ ذُرِّيَّةً فَقَالَ خَلَقْتُ هَؤُلَائِ لِلْجَنَّةِ وَبِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ يَعْمَلُونَ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ ظَهْرَهُ فَاسْتَخْرَجَ مِنْهُ ذُرِّيَّةً فَقَالَ خَلَقْتُ هَؤُلَائِ لِلنَّارِ وَبِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ يَعْمَلُونَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَفِيمَ الْعَمَلُ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا خَلَقَ الْعَبْدَ لِلْجَنَّةِ اسْتَعْمَلَهُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّی يَمُوتَ عَلَی عَمَلٍ مِنْ أَعْمَالِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيُدْخِلَهُ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَإِذَا خَلَقَ الْعَبْدَ لِلنَّارِ اسْتَعْمَلَهُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ حَتَّی يَمُوتَ عَلَی عَمَلٍ مِنْ أَعْمَالِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَيُدْخِلَهُ اللَّهُ النَّارَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ وَمُسْلِمُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ عُمَرَ وَقَدْ ذَکَرَ بَعْضُهُمْ فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ بَيْنَ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ وَبَيْنَ عُمَرَ رَجُلًا مَجْهُولًا

Narrated Muslim bin Yasar Al-Juhani: that 'Umar bin Al-Khattab was asked about this Ayah: And when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed and made them testify as to themselves: Am I not your Lord? They said: Yes! We testify, lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: 'Verily, we have been unaware of this (7:172).' So 'Umar bin Al-Khattab said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) being asked about it. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed Allah created Adam, then He wiped his back with His Right Hand, and his offspring came out of him. So he said: I created these for Paradise, and they will do the deeds of the people of Paradise. Then He wiped his back, and his offspring came out of him. So He said: I created these for the Fire, and they will do the deeds of the people of the Fire. A man said: 'Then of what good is doing deeds O Messenger of Allah!' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Verily, when Allah created a man for Paradise, He makes him perform the deeds of the people of Paradise, until he dies doing one of the deeds of the people of Paradise. So Allah will admit him into Paradise. And when He created a man for the Fire, He makes him perform the deeds of the people of the Fire until he dies doing the deeds of the people of the Fire. So Allah will enter him into the Fire.'

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ آدَمَ مَسَحَ ظَهْرَهُ فَسَقَطَ مِنْ ظَهْرِهِ کُلُّ نَسَمَةٍ هُوَ خَالِقُهَا مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ إِلَی يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْ کُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْهُمْ وَبِيصًا مِنْ نُورٍ ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَی آدَمَ فَقَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ مَنْ هَؤُلَائِ قَالَ هَؤُلَائِ ذُرِّيَّتُکَ فَرَأَی رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ فَأَعْجَبَهُ وَبِيصُ مَا بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ فَقَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ مَنْ هَذَا فَقَالَ هَذَا رَجُلٌ مِنْ آخِرِ الْأُمَمِ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِکَ يُقَالُ لَهُ دَاوُدُ فَقَالَ رَبِّ کَمْ جَعَلْتَ عُمْرَهُ قَالَ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً قَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ زِدْهُ مِنْ عُمْرِي أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً فَلَمَّا قُضِيَ عُمْرُ آدَمَ جَائَهُ مَلَکُ الْمَوْتِ فَقَالَ أَوَلَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْ عُمْرِي أَرْبَعُونَ سَنَةً قَالَ أَوَلَمْ تُعْطِهَا ابْنَکَ دَاوُدَ قَالَ فَجَحَدَ آدَمُ فَجَحَدَتْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُ وَنُسِّيَ آدَمُ فَنُسِّيَتْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُ وَخَطِئَ آدَمُ فَخَطِئَتْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When Allah created Adam He wiped his back and every person that He created among his offspring until the Day of Resurrection fell out of his back. He placed a ray of light between the eyes of every person. Then He showed them to Adam and he said: 'O Lord! Who are these people?' He said: 'These are your offspring.' He saw one of them whose ray between his eyes amazed him, so he said: 'O Lord! Who is this?' He said: 'This is a man from the latter nations of your offspring called Dawud.' He said: 'Lord! How long did You make his lifespan?' He said: 'Sixty years.' He said: 'O Lord! Add forty years from my life to his.' So at the end of Adam's life, the Angel of death of came to him, and he said: 'Do I not have forty years remaining?' He said: 'Did you not give them to your son Dawud?' He said: Adam denied, so his offspring denied, and Adam forgot and his offspring forgot, and Adam sinned, so his offspring sinned.

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← اَبِیْ صَالِحٍ ← زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، ← هِشَامِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ← أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ← عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَمَّا حَمَلَتْ حَوَّائُ طَافَ بِهَا إِبْلِيسُ وَکَانَ لَا يَعِيشُ لَهَا وَلَدٌ فَقَالَ سَمِّيهِ عَبْدَ الْحَارِثِ فَسَمَّتْهُ عَبْدَ الْحَارِثِ فَعَاشَ وَکَانَ ذَلِکَ مِنْ وَحْيِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَأَمْرِهِ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ مَرْفُوعًا إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ عُمَرَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَرَوَاهُ بَعْضُهُمْ عَنْ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ شَيْخٌ بَصْرِيٌّ

Narrated Samurah bin Jundab: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: When Hawwa became pregnant, Iblis came to her - and her children would not live (after birth) - so he said: 'Name him 'Abdul-Harith.' So she named him 'Abdul-Harith and he lived. So that is among the inspirations of Ash-Shaitan and his commands.

سَمُرَةَ ← الْحَسَنُ، ← قَتَادَةَ ← عمر بن إبراهيم ← عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى،

حدثنا عبد بن حميد، حدثنا ابو نعيم، حدثنا هشام بن سعد، عن زيد بن اسلم، عن ابي صالح، عن ابي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لما خلق آدم " الحديث.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When Allah created Adam (and he mentioned) the Hadith (#3076).

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو کُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ لَمَّا کَانَ يَوْمُ بَدْرٍ جِئْتُ بِسَيْفٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ شَفَی صَدْرِي مِنْ الْمُشْرِکِينَ أَوْ نَحْوَ هَذَا هَبْ لِي هَذَا السَّيْفَ فَقَالَ هَذَا لَيْسَ لِي وَلَا لَکَ فَقُلْتُ عَسَی أَنْ يُعْطَی هَذَا مَنْ لَا يُبْلِي بَلَائِي فَجَائَنِي الرَّسُولُ فَقَالَ إِنَّکَ سَأَلْتَنِي وَلِيس لِي وَإِنَّهُ قَدْ صَارَ لِي وَهُوَ لَکَ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ يَسْأَلُونَکَ عَنْ الْأَنْفَالِ الْآيَةَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ سِمَاکُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ مُصْعَبٍ أَيْضًا وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ

Narrated Mus'ab bin Sa'd: from his father who said: On the Day of Badr I brought a sword so I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Indeed Allah has satisfied my breast (i.e. my desire) on the idolaters - or something like that - give me this sword.' So he said: 'This is not for me, nor is it for you.' I said: 'Perhaps he will give this to someone who did not go through some struggle I went through (fighting).' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to me [and he said:] 'You asked me, but it was not up to me. But now it has occurred that it is up to me, so it is yours.' He said: So (the following) was revealed: They ask you about the spoils of war (8:1).

أَبِيهِ ← مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، ← عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَھْدَلَۃَ، ← أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، ← أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ،

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ سِمَاکٍ عَنْ عِکْرِمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ لَمَّا فَرَغَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ بَدْرٍ قِيلَ لَهُ عَلَيْکَ الْعِيرَ لَيْسَ دُونَهَا شَيْئٌ قَالَ فَنَادَاهُ الْعَبَّاسُ وَهُوَ فِي وَثَاقِهِ لَا يَصْلُحُ وَقَالَ لِأَنَّ اللَّهَ وَعَدَکَ إِحْدَی الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ وَقَدْ أَعْطَاکَ مَا وَعَدَکَ قَالَ صَدَقْتَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was finished at Badr, it was said to him: 'You have to get the caravan, you can not settle for less than that.' Al-'Abbas called out while he was bound up: 'There is no use.' He said: 'For Allah, Most High, has promised you one of the two parties, and He gave you what He promised you.' He said: 'He has said the truth.'

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ← عِكْرِمَةَ ← سِمَاكٍ، ← اِسْرَائِیْلُ ← عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ← عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يُونُسَ الْيَمَامِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عِکْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عبَّاسٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ نَظَرَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَی الْمُشْرِکِينَ وَهُمْ أَلْفٌ وَأَصْحَابُهُ ثَلَاثُ مِائَةٍ وَبِضْعَةُ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا فَاسْتَقْبَلَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْقِبْلَةَ ثُمَّ مَدَّ يَدَيْهِ وَجَعَلَ يَهْتِفُ بِرَبِّهِ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْجِزْ لِي مَا وَعَدْتَنِي اللَّهُمَّ آتِنِي مَا وَعَدْتَنِي اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ تُهْلِکْ هَذِهِ الْعِصَابَةَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ لَا تُعْبَدُ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَا زَالَ يَهْتِفُ بِرَبِّهِ مَادًّا يَدَيْهِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ حَتَّی سَقَطَ رِدَاؤُهُ مِنْ مَنْکِبَيْهِ فَأَتَاهُ أَبُو بَکْرٍ فَأَخَذَ رِدَائَهُ فَأَلْقَاهُ عَلَی مَنْکِبَيْهِ ثُمَّ الْتَزَمَهُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ کَفَاکَ مُنَاشَدَتَکَ رَبَّکَ إِنَّهُ سَيُنْجِزُ لَکَ مَا وَعَدَکَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَکَ وَتَعَالَی إِذْ تَسْتَغِيثُونَ رَبَّکُمْ فَاسْتَجَابَ لَکُمْ أَنِّي مُمِدُّکُمْ بِأَلْفٍ مِنْ الْمَلَائِکَةِ مُرْدِفِينَ فَأَمَدَّهُمْ اللَّهُ بِالْمَلَائِکَةِ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عُمَرَ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ عِکْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي زُمَيْلٍ وَأَبُو زُمَيْلٍ اسْمُهُ سِمَاکٌ الْحَنَفِيُّ وَإِنَّمَا کَانَ هَذَا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: from 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, who said: The Prophet (ﷺ) looked over the idolaters, and there were a thousand of them, while his Companions were three-hundred and ten and some odd number of men. So the Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) faced the Qiblah, stretched forth his hands and began beseeching his Lord: 'O Allah! Fulfill what You promised for me. [O Allah! Bring about what You promised for me] O Allah! If you destroy this band of adherents to Islam, you will not be worshiped upon the earth,' He continued beseeching his Lord with his hands stretched, facing the Qiblah until his Rida fell from his shoulders. Abu Bakr came to him, took his Rida and placed it back upon his shoulders, then embraced him from behind and said: 'O Prophet of Allah! You have sufficiently beseeched your Lord, indeed He shall fulfill what He promised you.' So Allah, Blessed and Most High, revealed: When you sought help of your Lord and He answered you (saying): 'I will help you with a thousand of the angels in succession (8:9).'
