حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الزِّبْرِقَانِ أَبَا هَمَّامٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ وَکَانَ ثِقَةً عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يَبِيعُ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ وَإِنْ کَانَ أَخَاهُ أَوْ أَبَاهُ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد سَمِعْت حَفْصَ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ قَالَ کَانَ يُقَالُ لَا يَبِيعُ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ وَهِيَ کَلِمَةٌ جَامِعَةٌ لَا يَبِيعُ لَهُ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَبْتَاعُ لَهُ شَيْئًا

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet ﷺ said: A townsman must not sell for a man from the desert, even if he is his brother or father. Abu Dawud said: Anas bin Malik said: It was said: A townsman must not sell for a man from the desert. This phrase carries a broad meaning. It means that the (the townsman) must not sell anything for him or buy anything for him.

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَی بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَقَ عَنْ سَالِمٍ الْمَکِّيِّ أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ بِحَلُوبَةٍ لَهُ عَلَی عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَزَلَ عَلَی طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَی أَنْ يَبِيعَ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ وَلَکِنْ اذْهَبْ إِلَی السُّوقِ فَانْظُرْ مَنْ يُبَايِعُکَ فَشَاوِرْنِي حَتَّی آمُرَکَ أَوْ أَنْهَاکَ

Narrated Salim al-Makki: That a bedouin told him that he brought a milch she-camel in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He alighted with Talhah ibn Ubaydullah (and wanted to sell his milch animal to him). He said: The Prophet ﷺ forbade a townsman to sell for a man from the desert. But go to the market and see who buys from you. consult me thereafter, and then I shall ask you (to sell) or forbid you.

حَدَّثَنَا عُبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَبِعْ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ وَذَرُوا النَّاسَ يَرْزُقُ اللَّهُ بَعْضَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ

Narrated Jabir: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: A townsman must not sell for a man from the desert ; and leave people alone, Allah will give them provision from one another.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ عَنْ مَالِکٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَلَقَّوْا الرُّکْبَانَ لِلْبَيْعِ وَلَا يَبِعْ بَعْضُکُمْ عَلَی بَيْعِ بَعْضٍ وَلَا تُصَرُّوا الْإِبِلَ وَالْغَنَمَ فَمَنْ ابْتَاعَهَا بَعْدَ ذَلِکَ فَهُوَ بِخَيْرِ النَّظَرَيْنِ بَعْدَ أَنْ يَحْلُبَهَا فَإِنْ رَضِيَهَا أَمْسَکَهَا وَإِنْ سَخِطَهَا رَدَّهَا وَصَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Do not go out to meet riders to conduct business with them ; none of you must buy in opposition to one another; and do not tie up the udders of camels and sheep, for he who buys them after that has been done has two courses open to him after milking them: he may keep them if he is pleased with them, or he may return them along with a sa' of dates is he is displeased with them.

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَی بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ وَهِشَامٌ وَحَبِيبٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ اشْتَرَی شَاةً مُصَرَّاةً فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِنْ شَائَ رَدَّهَا وَصَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ لَا سَمْرَائَ

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ as saying: If anyone buys sheep whose udders have been tied up, he has option for three days: he may return it if he desires with a sa' of any grain, not (necessarily) wheat.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْمَکِّيُّ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي زِيَادٌ أَنَّ ثَابِتًا مَوْلَی عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ اشْتَرَی غَنَمًا مُصَرَّاةً احْتَلَبَهَا فَإِنْ رَضِيَهَا أَمْسَکَهَا وَإِنْ سَخِطَهَا فَفِي حَلْبَتِهَا صَاعٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: If anyone buys sheep or goat whose udders have been tied up and he milked it, he may keep it if he is pleased with it, or he may return it if he is displeased with it. There is one sa' of dates (which he must give to the seller) for milking it.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو کَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ جُمَيْعِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ التَّيْمِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ ابْتَاعَ مُحَفَّلَةً فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ فَإِنْ رَدَّهَا رَدَّ مَعَهَا مِثْلَ أَوْ مِثْلَيْ لَبَنِهَا قَمْحًا

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone buys a sheep whose udders have been tied up, he has option for three days (for decision). If he returns it, he should return with it wheat equal to its milk or double of it.

حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَی عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَائٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ أَحَدِ بَنِي عَدِيِّ بْنِ کَعْبٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَحْتَکِرُ إِلَّا خَاطِئٌ فَقُلْتُ لِسَعِيدٍ فَإِنَّکَ تَحْتَکِرُ قَالَ وَمَعْمَرٌ کَانَ يَحْتَکِرُ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد وَسَأَلْتُ أَحْمَدَ مَا الْحُکْرَةُ قَالَ مَا فِيهِ عَيْشُ النَّاسِ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد قَالَ الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ الْمُحْتَکِرُ مَنْ يَعْتَرِضُ السُّوقَ

Narrated Mamar bin Abi Mamar, one of the children of Adi bin Kab: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: No one withholds goods till their price rises but a sinner. I said to Saeed (b. al-Musayyab): You withhold goods till their price rises. He said: Mamar used to withhold goods till their price rose. Abu Dawud said: I asked Ahmad (b. Hanbal): What is hoarding (hukrah) ? He replied: That on which people live. Abu Dawud said: Al-Auzai said: A muhtakir (one who hoards) is one who withholds supply of goods in the market.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَی بْنِ فَيَّاضٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ح و حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّی حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ الْفَيَّاضِ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ لَيْسَ فِي التَّمْرِ حُکْرَةٌ قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّی قَالَ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ لَا تَقُلْ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عِنْدَنَا بَاطِلٌ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد کَانَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ يَحْتَکِرُ النَّوَی وَالْخَبَطَ وَالْبِزْرَ و سَمِعْت أَحْمَدَ بْنَ يُونُسَ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ کَبْسِ الْقَتِّ فَقَالَ کَانُوا يَکْرَهُونَ الْحُکْرَةَ وَسَأَلْتُ أَبَا بَکْرِ بْنَ عَيَّاشٍ فَقَالَ اکْبِسْهُ

Qatadah said: Hoarding does not apply to dried dates. Ibn al-Muthanna said that he (Yahya bin Fayyad) reported on the authority of al-Hasan. We (Ibn al-Muthanna) said to him (Yahya): Do not say: "on the authority of al-Hasan. " Abu Dawud said: This tradition according to us is false. Abu Dawud said: Saeed bin al-Musayyab used to hoard kernel, fodder, and seeds. Abu Dawud said: I heard Ahmad bin Yunus say: I asked Sufyan about hoarding fodder. He replied: They (the people in the past) disapproved of hoarding. I asked Abu Bakr bin Ayyash (about it). He replied: Hoard it.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ فَضَائٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ نَهَی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تُکْسَرَ سِکَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ الْجَائِزَةُ بَيْنَهُمْ إِلَّا مِنْ بَأْسٍ

Narrated Alqamah bin Abdullah: On the authority of his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade to break the coins of the Muslims current among them except for some defect.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ أَنَّ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ بِلَالٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْعَلَائُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَائَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ سَعِّرْ فَقَالَ بَلْ أَدْعُو ثُمَّ جَائَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ سَعِّرْ فَقَالَ بَلْ اللَّهُ يَخْفِضُ وَيَرْفَعُ وَإِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَی اللَّهَ وَلَيْسَ لِأَحَدٍ عِنْدِي مَظْلَمَةٌ

Narrated Abu Hurairah: A man came and said: Messenger of Allah, fix prices. He said: (No), but I shall pray. Again the man came and said: Messenger of Allah, fix prices. He said: It is but Allah Who makes the prices low and high. I hope that when I meet Allah, none of you has any claim on me for doing wrong regarding blood or property.

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ وَقَتَادَةُ وَحُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ النَّاسُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ غَلَا السِّعْرُ فَسَعِّرْ لَنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمُسَعِّرُ الْقَابِضُ الْبَاسِطُ الرَّازِقُ وَإِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَی اللَّهَ وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْکُمْ يُطَالِبُنِي بِمَظْلَمَةٍ فِي دَمٍ وَلَا مَالٍ

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The people said: Messenger of Allah, prices have shot up, so fix prices for us. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah is the one Who fixes prices, Who withholds, gives lavishly and provides, and I hope that when I meet Allah, none of you will have any claim on me for an injustice regarding blood or property.
