أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَکِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ عَطَائِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّهُ کَانَ يُصَلِّي فَإِذَا بِابْنٍ لِمَرْوَانَ يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَدَرَأَهُ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ فَضَرَبَهُ فَخَرَجَ الْغُلَامُ يَبْکِي حَتَّی أَتَی مَرْوَانَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ لِأَبِي سَعِيدٍ لِمَ ضَرَبْتَ ابْنَ أَخِيکَ قَالَ مَا ضَرَبْتُهُ إِنَّمَا ضَرَبْتُ الشَّيْطَانَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا کَانَ أَحَدُکُمْ فِي صَلَاةٍ فَأَرَادَ إِنْسَانٌ يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَيَدْرَؤُهُ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ فَإِنْ أَبَی فَلْيُقَاتِلْهُ فَإِنَّهُ شَيْطَانٌ

It was narrated from Abu Saeed Al-Khudri that he was praying and a son of Marwan wanted to pass in front of him. He tried to stop him but he did not go back, so he hit him. The boy went out crying and went to Marwan and told him (what had happened). Marwan said to Abu Saeed: “Why did you hit your brother’s son?” He said: “I did not hit him, rather I hit the Shaan. I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم say: ‘If one of you is praying and someone wants to pass in front of him, let him try to stop him as much as he can, and if he persists then let him fight him, for he is a devil.” (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ لَفْظًا قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ أَمَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبْزَی أَنْ أَسْأَلَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ هَاتَيْنِ الْآيَتَيْنِ وَمَنْ يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَاؤُهُ جَهَنَّمُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ لَمْ يَنْسَخْهَا شَيْئٌ وَعَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي أَهْلِ الشِّرْکِ

It was narrated that Saeed bin Jubair said: “Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Laila told me to ask Ibn ‘Abbas about two Verses: ‘And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell’ I asked him and he said: ‘Nothing of this has been abrogated.’ (And I asked him about the Verse): ‘And those who invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah, nor kill such person as Allah has forbidden, except by right.’ He said: ‘This was revealed concerning the people of Shirk.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ النَّعْمَانِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ اخْتَلَفَ أَهْلُ الْکُوفَةِ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ وَمَنْ يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَرَحَلْتُ إِلَی ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي آخِرِ مَا أُنْزِلَتْ وَمَا نَسَخَهَا شَيْئٌ

It was narrated that Saeed bin Jubair said: “The people of Al Kufah differed concerning this Verse: ‘And whoever kills a believer ifltefltiOflally. So I went to Ibn ‘Abbas and asked him, and he said: ‘It was revealed among the last of what was revealed, and nothing of it was abrogated after that.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ أَبِي بَزَّةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ هَلْ لِمَنْ قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا مِنْ تَوْبَةٍ قَالَ لَا وَقَرَأْتُ عَلَيْهِ الْآيَةَ الَّتِي فِي الْفُرْقَانِ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ قَالَ هَذِهِ آيَةٌ مَکِّيَّةٌ نَسَخَتْهَا آيَةٌ مَدَنِيَّةٌ وَمَنْ يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَاؤُهُ جَهَنَّمُ

It was narrated that Saeed bin Jubair said: “I said to Ibn ‘Abbas: ‘Can a person who killed a believer intentionally repent?’ He said: ‘No.’ I recited the Verse from Al-Furqan to him: ‘And those who invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah, nor kill such person as Allah has forbidden, except by right.’ He said: ‘This Verse was revealed in Makkah and was abrogated by a verse that was revealed in Al-Madinah: And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell. (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمَّارٍ الدُّهْنِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ سُئِلَ عَمَّنْ قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا ثُمَّ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَی فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَنَّی لَهُ التَّوْبَةُ سَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّکُمْ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يَجِيئُ مُتَعَلِّقًا بِالْقَاتِلِ تَشْخَبُ أَوْدَاجُهُ دَمًا يَقُولُ سَلْ هَذَا فِيمَ قَتَلَنِي ثُمَّ قَالَ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَنْزَلَهَا وَمَا نَسَخَهَا

It was narrated from Salim bin Abi Ja’d that Tbn ‘Abbas was asked about someone who killed a believer deliberately then he repented, believed and did righteous deeds, and followed true guidance. Ibn ‘Abbas said: “There is no way he could repent! I heard your Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم say: He (the victim) will come hanging onto his killer, with his jugular veins flowing with blood and saying: “Ask him why he killed me.” Then he said: “By Allah, Allah revealed it and never abrogated anything of it.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَکْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ح و أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَکْرٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْکَبَائِرُ الشِّرْکُ بِاللَّهِ وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ وَقَوْلُ الزُّورِ

It was narrated that ‘Ubaidullah bin Abi Bakr said: “I heard Anas say: ‘The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘The major sins are: associating others with Allah (Shirk), disobeying one’s parents, killing a soul (murder) and speaking falsely.”

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ شُمَيْلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا فِرَاسٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْکَبَائِرُ الْإِشْرَاکُ بِاللَّهِ وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ وَالْيَمِينُ الْغَمُوسُ

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “The major sins are: associating others with Allah, disobeying parents, killing a soul (murder) and swearing a false oath knowingly.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ الْأَزْرَقُ عَنْ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ عَنْ عِکْرِمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَزْنِي الْعَبْدُ حِينَ يَزْنِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ حِينَ يَشْرَبُهَا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا يَسْرِقُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا يَقْتُلُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم j said: ‘No one who commits Zinais a believer at the moment when he is committing Zina, and no one who drinks wine is a believer at the moment when he is drinking it, and no thief is a believer at the moment when he is stealing, and no killer is a believer at the moment he is killing.” (Sahih)
