و حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ قَتَادَةَ بْنَ دِعَامَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا الطُّفَيْلِ الْبَکْرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُا لَمْ أَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَلِمُ غَيْرَ الرُّکْنَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ

NAfi' (Allah be pleased with him) reported: I saw'lbn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) touching the Stone with his hand and then kissing his hand. and he said: I have never abandoned it since I saw Allah's Messenger (way peace be upon him) doing It.

و حَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَی أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ وَعَمْرٌو ح و حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ قَبَّلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ الْحَجَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَمَ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّکَ حَجَرٌ وَلَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَبِّلُکَ مَا قَبَّلْتُکَ زَادَ هَارُونُ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ قَالَ عَمْرٌو وَحَدَّثَنِي بِمِثْلِهَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَسْلَمَ

Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with them) is reported to have said that he did not see Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) touching other than the Yamani corners.

و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَکْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ قَبَّلَ الْحَجَرَ وَقَالَ إِنِّي لَأُقَبِّلُکَ وَإِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّکَ حَجَرٌ وَلَکِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَبِّلُکَ

Salim narrated on the authority of his father (Allah be pleased with him) that 'Umar b. al-Khattib (Allah be pleased with him) kissed (the Black Stone) and then said: By Allah, I know that you are a stone and if I were not to see Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) kissing you, I would not have kissed you. Harun said in his narration: A hadith like this has been transmitted to me by Zaid b. Aslam on the authority of his father Aslam.

حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ وَالْمُقَدَّمِيُّ وَأَبُو کَامِلٍ وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ کُلُّهُمْ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ خَلَفٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ الْأَصْلَعَ يَعْنِي عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ يُقَبِّلُ الْحَجَرَ وَيَقُولُ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُقَبِّلُکَ وَإِنِّي أَعْلَمُ أَنَّکَ حَجَرٌ وَأَنَّکَ لَا تَضُرُّ وَلَا تَنْفَعُ وَلَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبَّلَکَ مَا قَبَّلْتُکَ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ الْمُقَدَّمِيِّ وَأَبِي کَامِلٍ رَأَيْتُ الْأُصَيْلِعَ

Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported that Umar (Allah be pleased with him) kissed the Stone and said: I am kissing you, whereas I know that you are a stone, but I saw Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) kissing you (that Is why I kiss you).

و حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی وَأَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ جَمِيعًا عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ يَحْيَی أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَابِسِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ يُقَبِّلُ الْحَجَرَ وَيَقُولُ إِنِّي لَأُقَبِّلُکَ وَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّکَ حَجَرٌ وَلَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَبِّلُکَ لَمْ أُقَبِّلْکَ

Abdullah b. Sarjis reported: I saw the bald one, i. e. 'Umar b. Khattib (Allah be pleased with him). kissing the Stone and saying: By Allah. I am kissing with full consciousness of the fact that you are a stone and that you can neither do any harm nor good; and if I had not seen Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) kissing you. I would not have kissed you. The rest of the hadith is the same.

Abis b. Rabi'a reported: I saw 'Umar (Allah'be pleased with him) kissing the Stone and saying: I am kissing you and I know that you are a stone. And if I had not seen Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) kissing you, I would not have kissed you.

و حَدَّثَنِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ قَالَ وَلَکِنِّي رَأَيْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِکَ حَفِيًّا وَلَمْ يَقُلْ وَالْتَزَمَهُ

Suwaid b. Ghafala reported: I saw Umar (Allah be pleased with him) kissing the Stone and clinging to it and saying: I saw Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) having great love for you.

حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ وَحَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَی قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَافَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ عَلَی بَعِيرٍ يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّکْنَ بِمِحْجَنٍ

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Sufyan with the same chain of transmitters (and the words are): That he ('Umar) said: But I saw Abu'l-Qasim (way peace be upon him) having great love for you. And he did not mention about clinging to it.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ طَافَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَيْتِ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ عَلَی رَاحِلَتِهِ يَسْتَلِمُ الْحَجَرَ بِمِحْجَنِهِ لِأَنْ يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ وَلِيُشْرِفَ وَلِيَسْأَلُوهُ فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ غَشُوهُ

Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) circumambulated the House on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage on the back of his camel and touched the Corner (of Black Stone) with a stick.

و حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَی بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ح و حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بَکْرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُا طَافَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ عَلَی رَاحِلَتِهِ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبِالصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ لِيَرَاهُ النَّاسُ وَلِيُشْرِفَ وَلِيَسْأَلُوهُ فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ غَشُوهُ وَلَمْ يَذْکُرْ ابْنُ خَشْرَمٍ وَلِيَسْأَلُوهُ فَقَطْ

Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) circumambulated the House on the back of his riding camel on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage and touched the Stone with his stick so that the people should see him, and he should be conspicuous, and they should be able to ask him (questions pertaining to religion) as the people had crowded round him.

حَدَّثَنِي الْحَکَمُ بْنُ مُوسَی الْقَنْطَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَقَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ طَافَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ حَوْلَ الْکَعْبَةِ عَلَی بَعِيرِهِ يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّکْنَ کَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ يُضْرَبَ عَنْهُ النَّاسُ

jabir b. 'Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them) reported that Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) circumambulated the House (and ran) between al-Safa and al-Marwa on the back of his she-camel, at the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage. so that the people should see him and he should be conspicuous, and they should be able to ask him (questions pertaining to religion), and the people had crowded round him. In the hadith transmitted on the authority of Ibn Khashram no mention Is made of: So that they should ask him.

و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْرُوفُ بْنُ خَرَّبُوذَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الطُّفَيْلِ يَقُولُا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ وَيَسْتَلِمُ الرُّکْنَ بِمِحْجَنٍ مَعَهُ وَيُقَبِّلُ الْمِحْجَنَ

A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) circumambulated the Ka'ba on the back of his camel on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage and touched the corner and he did not like that the people should be pushed away from him.
