و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَفْلَحَ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُهِلِّينَ بِالْحَجِّ فِي أَشْهُرِ الْحَجِّ وَفِي حُرُمِ الْحَجِّ وَلَيَالِي الْحَجِّ حَتَّی نَزَلْنَا بِسَرِفَ فَخَرَجَ إِلَی أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَکُنْ مَعَهُ مِنْکُمْ هَدْيٌ فَأَحَبَّ أَنْ يَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً فَلْيَفْعَلْ وَمَنْ کَانَ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلَا فَمِنْهُمْ الْآخِذُ بِهَا وَالتَّارِکُ لَهَا مِمَّنْ لَمْ يَکُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَأَمَّا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَکَانَ مَعَهُ الْهَدْيُ وَمَعَ رِجَالٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ لَهُمْ قُوَّةٌ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا أَبْکِي فَقَالَ مَا يُبْکِيکِ قُلْتُ سَمِعْتُ کَلَامَکَ مَعَ أَصْحَابِکَ فَسَمِعْتُ بِالْعُمْرَةِ قَالَ وَمَا لَکِ قُلْتُ لَا أُصَلِّي قَالَ فَلَا يَضُرُّکِ فَکُونِي فِي حَجِّکِ فَعَسَی اللَّهُ أَنْ يَرْزُقَکِيهَا وَإِنَّمَا أَنْتِ مِنْ بَنَاتِ آدَمَ کَتَبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْکِ مَا کَتَبَ عَلَيْهِنَّ قَالَتْ فَخَرَجْتُ فِي حَجَّتِي حَتَّی نَزَلْنَا مِنًی فَتَطَهَّرْتُ ثُمَّ طُفْنَا بِالْبَيْتِ وَنَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمُحَصَّبَ فَدَعَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَبِي بَکْرٍ فَقَالَ اخْرُجْ بِأُخْتِکَ مِنْ الْحَرَمِ فَلْتُهِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ ثُمَّ لِتَطُفْ بِالْبَيْتِ فَإِنِّي أَنْتَظِرُکُمَا هَا هُنَا قَالَتْ فَخَرَجْنَا فَأَهْلَلْتُ ثُمَّ طُفْتُ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبِالصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ فَجِئْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ مِنْ جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ هَلْ فَرَغْتِ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَآذَنَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ بِالرَّحِيلِ فَخَرَجَ فَمَرَّ بِالْبَيْتِ فَطَافَ بِهِ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَی الْمَدِينَةِ

A'Isha reported that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) entered into the state of Ihram for Hajj Afrad.

حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَی بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمُهَلَّبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ مِنَّا مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِالْحَجِّ مُفْرَدًا وَمِنَّا مَنْ قَرَنَ وَمِنَّا مَنْ تَمَتَّعَ

A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: We proceeded with the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) putting on the Ihram for Hajj during the months of Hajj and the night of Hajj till we encamped at Sarif. He (the Holy Prophet) went to his Companions and said: He who has no sacrificial animal with him, in his case I wish that he should perform Umra (with this Ihram), and he who has the sacrificial animal with him should not do it. So some of them performed Hajj whereas others who had no sacrificial animals with them did not do (Hajj, but performed only 'Umra). The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) had a sacrificial animal with him and those too who could afford it (performed) Hajj). The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) came to me (i. e. A'isha) while I was weeping, and he said: What makes you weep? I said: I heard your talk with Companions about Umra. He said: What has happened to you? I said: I do not observe prayer (due to the monthly period), whereupon he said: It would not harm you; you should perform (during this time) the rituals of Hajj (which you can do outside the House). Maybe Allah will compensate you for this. You are one among the daughters of Adam and Allah has ordained for you as He has ordained for them. So I proceeded on (with the rituals of Hajj) till we came to Mina. I washed myself and then circumambulated the House, and the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) encamped at Muhassab and called, Abd al-Rahman b. Abu Bakr. and said: Take out your sister from the precincts of the Ka'ba in order to put on Ihram for Umra and circumambulate the House. and I shall wait for you here. She said: So I went out and put on Ihram and then circumambulated the House, and (ran) between al-Safa and al-Marwa, and then we came to the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and he was in his house in the middle of the night. He said: Have you completed your (rituals)? I said: Yes. He then announced to his Companions to march on. He came out, and went to the House and circumambulated it before the dawn prayer and then proceeded to Medina.

A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) said: Some among us put on Ihram for Hajj alone (Hajj Mufrad) ; some of us for Hajj and Umra together (Qiran), and some of us for Tamattal (first for Umra and after completing it for Hajj).

و حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بِلَالٍ عَنْ يَحْيَی وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَمْرَةَ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا تَقُولُ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِخَمْسٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ وَلَا نَرَی إِلَّا أَنَّهُ الْحَجُّ حَتَّی إِذَا دَنَوْنَا مِنْ مَکَّةَ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ لَمْ يَکُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ إِذَا طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ أَنْ يَحِلَّ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا فَدُخِلَ عَلَيْنَا يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ بِلَحْمِ بَقَرٍ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا فَقِيلَ ذَبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَزْوَاجِهِ قَالَ يَحْيَی فَذَکَرْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ لِلْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ أَتَتْکَ وَاللَّهِ بِالْحَدِيثِ عَلَی وَجْهِهِ

AI-Qasim b. Muhammad reported that A'isha had come for Hajj.

و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَی بْنَ سَعِيدٍ يَقُولُ أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَمْرَةُ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ح و حَدَّثَنَاه ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَی بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ

Umra reported: I heard A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) as saying: We went out with the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) five days before the end of Dhi Qa'dah, and we did see but that he intended to perform Hajj (only), but as we came near Mecca the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) commanded that he who did not have the sacrificial animal with him should put off Ihram after circumambulating the House and running between al-Safa and aI-Marwa (and thus convert his Ihram from that of Hajj to 'Umra). 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) said: The flesh of cow was sent to us on the Day of Sacrifice (10th of Dhu'I-Hijja). I said. What is this? It was said: The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) sacrificed (the cow) on behalf of his wives. Yahya said: I made a mention of this hadith (what has been stated by Umra) to Qasim b. Muhammad, whereupon be said: By Allah, she has rightly narrated it to you.

و حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ح وَعَنْ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ بِنُسُکَيْنِ وَأَصْدُرُ بِنُسُکٍ وَاحِدٍ قَالَ انْتَظِرِي فَإِذَا طَهَرْتِ فَاخْرُجِي إِلَی التَّنْعِيمِ فَأَهِلِّي مِنْهُ ثُمَّ الْقَيْنَا عِنْدَ کَذَا وَکَذَا قَالَ أَظُنُّهُ قَالَ غَدًا وَلَکِنَّهَا عَلَی قَدْرِ نَصَبِکِ أَوْ قَالَ نَفَقَتِکِ

This hadlth has been narrated by Yahya through the same chain of transmitters.

و حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّی حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ لَا أَعْرِفُ حَدِيثَ أَحَدِهِمَا مِنْ الْآخَرِ أَنَّ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ بِنُسُکَيْنِ فَذَکَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

AI-Qasim narrated from the Mother of the Believers (Hadrat 'A'isha) that she said: Messenger of Allah. the people return (from Mecca) having done two worships (both Hajj and Umra), but I am coming back with one (only). whereupon he said: You should wait and when the period of menses is over, you should go to Tan'im and put on lhram and then meet us at such and such time (and I think he said tomorrow) ; and (the reward of this Umra) is for you equal to your hardship or your spending.

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَإِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا و قَالَ إِسْحَقُ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَا نَرَی إِلَّا أَنَّهُ الْحَجُّ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا مَکَّةَ تَطَوَّفْنَا بِالْبَيْتِ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ لَمْ يَکُنْ سَاقَ الْهَدْيَ أَنْ يَحِلَّ قَالَتْ فَحَلَّ مَنْ لَمْ يَکُنْ سَاقَ الْهَدْيَ وَنِسَاؤُهُ لَمْ يَسُقْنَ الْهَدْيَ فَأَحْلَلْنَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَحِضْتُ فَلَمْ أَطُفْ بِالْبَيْتِ فَلَمَّا کَانَتْ لَيْلَةُ الْحَصْبَةِ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَرْجِعُ النَّاسُ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ وَأَرْجِعُ أَنَا بِحَجَّةٍ قَالَ أَوْ مَا کُنْتِ طُفْتِ لَيَالِيَ قَدِمْنَا مَکَّةَ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ فَاذْهَبِي مَعَ أَخِيکِ إِلَی التَّنْعِيمِ فَأَهِلِّي بِعُمْرَةٍ ثُمَّ مَوْعِدُکِ مَکَانَ کَذَا وَکَذَا قَالَتْ صَفِيَّةُ مَا أُرَانِي إِلَّا حَابِسَتَکُمْ قَالَ عَقْرَی حَلْقَی أَوْ مَا کُنْتِ طُفْتِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ قَالَتْ بَلَی قَالَ لَا بَأْسَ انْفِرِي قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَلَقِيَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مُصْعِدٌ مِنْ مَکَّةَ وَأَنَا مُنْهَبِطَةٌ عَلَيْهَا أَوْ أَنَا مُصْعِدَةٌ وَهُوَ مُنْهَبِطٌ مِنْهَا و قَالَ إِسْحَقُ مُتَهَبِّطَةٌ وَمُتَهَبِّطٌ

Ibn al-Muththanna reported on the authority of Ibn Abu'Adi who transmitted on the authority of Ibn'Aun who narrated from al-Qasim and Ibrahim having said: I cannot differentiate the hadith of one from the other (Qasim and Ibrahim) that the Mother of the Believers (Allah be pleased with her) said this: Messenger of Allah, people have come back with two acts of worship. The rest of the hadith is the same.

و حَدَّثَنَاه سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نُلَبِّي لَا نَذْکُرُ حَجًّا وَلَا عُمْرَةً وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِمَعْنَی حَدِيثِ مَنْصُورٍ

A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: We went with the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and we did not see but that he (intended to perform) Hajj (only), but when we reached Mecca we circumambulated the House; and the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) commanded that he who did not have with him a sacrificial animal should put off Ihram. She (A'isha) said: (And consequently) those who did not bring the sacrificial animals with them put off Ihram; and among his wives (too) who had not brought the sacrificial animals with them put off Ihram. A'isha said: I entered my period and could not (therefore) circumambulate the House. When it was the night of Hasba she said: Messenger of Allah, people are coming back (after having performed both) Hajj and'Umra, whereas I am coming back only with Hajj, whereupon he said: Did you not circumambulate (the Ka'ba) that very night we entered Mecca? She (A'isha) said: No, whereupon he said: Go along with your brother to Tan'im and put on the Ihram for Umra, and it is at such and such a place that you can meet (us). (In the meanwhile) Safiyya (the wife of the Holy Prophet) said: I think, I will detain you (since I have entered in the monthly) period and you shall have to wait for me for the farewell circuit). Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: May you be wounded and your head shorn did you not circumambulate on the Day of Sacrifice (10th of Dhu'l-Hijja)? She said: Yes. The Prophet ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: There is no harm. You should go forward. 'A'isha said: The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) was going upwards to the side of Mecca, whereas I was coming down from it, or I was going upward, whereas he was coming down. Isbiq said: She was climbing down, and he was climbing down.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ جَمِيعًا عَنْ غُنْدَرٍ قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّی حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ الْحَکَمِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ ذَکْوَانَ مَوْلَی عَائِشَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَرْبَعٍ مَضَيْنَ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ أَوْ خَمْسٍ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ وَهُوَ غَضْبَانُ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ أَغْضَبَکَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَدْخَلَهُ اللَّهُ النَّارَ قَالَ أَوَمَا شَعَرْتِ أَنِّي أَمَرْتُ النَّاسَ بِأَمْرٍ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَتَرَدَّدُونَ قَالَ الْحَکَمُ کَأَنَّهُمْ يَتَرَدَّدُونَ أَحْسِبُ وَلَوْ أَنِّي اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ مَا سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ مَعِي حَتَّی أَشْتَرِيَهُ ثُمَّ أَحِلُّ کَمَا حَلُّوا

A'isha (Allah be pleased, with her) reported: We went out with the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) pronouncing Talbiya having no explicit intention of Pilgrimage or 'Umra. The rest of the hadith is the same.

و حَدَّثَنَاه عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ الْحَکَمِ سَمِعَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ ذَکْوَانَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَرْبَعٍ أَوْ خَمْسٍ مَضَيْنَ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ غُنْدَرٍ وَلَمْ يَذْکُرْ الشَّکَّ مِنْ الْحَکَمِ فِي قَوْلِهِ يَتَرَدَّدُونَ

A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) came out on the 4th or 5th of Dhul'I-Hijja (for Pilgrimage to Mecca) and came to me, and he was very angry. I said: Messenger of Allah, who has annoyed you? May Allah cast him in fire I He said: Don't you know that I commanded the people to do an act, but they are hesitant. (Hakam said: I think that he said: They seem to be hesitant.) And if I were to know my affair before what I had to do subsequently, I would not have brought with me the sacrificial animals, and would have bought them (at Mecca) and would have put off lhram as others have done.

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهَا أَهَلَّتْ بِعُمْرَةٍ فَقَدِمَتْ وَلَمْ تَطُفْ بِالْبَيْتِ حَتَّی حَاضَتْ فَنَسَکَتْ الْمَنَاسِکَ کُلَّهَا وَقَدْ أَهَلَّتْ بِالْحَجِّ فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ النَّفْرِ يَسَعُکِ طَوَافُکِ لِحَجِّکِ وَعُمْرَتِکِ فَأَبَتْ فَبَعَثَ بِهَا مَعَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِلَی التَّنْعِيمِ فَاعْتَمَرَتْ بَعْدَ الْحَجِّ

A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) came out (for Pilgrimage) on The 4th or 5th of Dbu'l Hjjja. The rest of the hadith is the same, but he (the narrator) made no mention of the doubt of Hakam about his (the Prophet's) words: They were reluctant.
