حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ عَنْ الْبَرَائِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَمَرَنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَبْعٍ وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ أَمَرَنَا بِعِيَادَةِ الْمَرِيضِ وَاتِّبَاعِ الْجِنَازَةِ وَتَشْمِيتِ الْعَاطِسِ وَإِجَابَةِ الدَّاعِي وَرَدِّ السَّلَامِ وَنَصْرِ الْمَظْلُومِ وَإِبْرَارِ الْمُقْسِمِ وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ عَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ أَوْ قَالَ حَلْقَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ وَالدِّيبَاجِ وَالسُّنْدُسِ وَالْمَيَاثِرِ

Narrated Al-Bara: The Prophet ordered us to do seven (things) and forbade us from seven (other things): He ordered us to pay a visit to the sick, to follow funeral possessions, to say: May Allah be merciful to you to a sneezer, - if he says: Praise be to Allah, to accept invitation (invitation to a wedding banquet), to return greetings, to help the oppressed, and to help others to fulfill their oaths (provided it was not sinful). And he forbade us from seven (things): to wear golden rings or golden bangles, to wear silk (cloth), Dibaj, Sundus and Mayathir.

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْعُطَاسَ وَيَکْرَهُ التَّثَاؤُبَ فَإِذَا عَطَسَ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ فَحَقٌّ عَلَی کُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ سَمِعَهُ أَنْ يُشَمِّتَهُ وَأَمَّا التَّثَاؤُبُ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ فَلْيَرُدَّهُ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ فَإِذَا قَالَ هَا ضَحِکَ مِنْهُ الشَّيْطَانُ

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Allah likes sneezing and dislikes yawning, so if someone sneezes and then praises Allah, then it is obligatory on every Muslim who heard him, to say: May Allah be merciful to you (Yar-hamuka-l-lah). But as regards yawning, it is from Satan, so one must try one's best to stop it, if one says 'Ha' when yawning, Satan will laugh at him."

حَدَّثَنَا مَالِکُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا عَطَسَ أَحَدُکُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلْيَقُلْ لَهُ أَخُوهُ أَوْ صَاحِبُهُ يَرْحَمُکَ اللَّهُ فَإِذَا قَالَ لَهُ يَرْحَمُکَ اللَّهُ فَلْيَقُلْ يَهْدِيکُمُ اللَّهُ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَکُمْ بالکم شانکم

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, " If anyone of you sneezes, he should say 'Al-Hamduli l-lah' (Praise be to Allah), and his (Muslim) brother or companion should say to him, 'Yar-hamuka-l-lah' (May Allah bestow his Mercy on you). When the latter says 'Yar-hamuka-llah", the former should say, 'Yahdikumul-lah wa Yuslih balakum' (May Allah give you guidance and improve your condition).

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ عَطَسَ رَجُلَانِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَشَمَّتَ أَحَدَهُمَا وَلَمْ يُشَمِّتْ الْآخَرَ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ شَمَّتَّ هَذَا وَلَمْ تُشَمِّتْنِي قَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا حَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَلَمْ تَحْمَدْ اللَّهَ

Narrated Anas: Two men sneezed before the Prophet and he said Tashmit to one of them, while he did not say Tashmit to the other. So that man said, "O Allah's Apostle! You said Tashmit to that fellow but you did not say Tashmit to me. "The Prophet said, "That man praised Allah, but you did not praise Allah."

حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْعُطَاسَ وَيَکْرَهُ التَّثَاؤُبَ فَإِذَا عَطَسَ أَحَدُکُمْ وَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ کَانَ حَقًّا عَلَی کُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ سَمِعَهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ لَهُ يَرْحَمُکَ اللَّهُ وَأَمَّا التَّثَاؤُبُ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا تَثَائَبَ أَحَدُکُمْ فَلْيَرُدَّهُ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ فَإِنَّ أَحَدَکُمْ إِذَا تَثَائَبَ ضَحِکَ مِنْهُ الشَّيْطَانُ

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Allah loves sneezing but dislikes yawning; so if anyone of you sneezes and then praises Allah, every Muslim who hears him (praising Allah) has to say Tashmit to him. But as regards yawning, it is from Satan, so if one of you yawns, he should try his best to stop it, for when anyone of you yawns, Satan laughs at him."
