حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَی بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَکْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَثْنَی رَجُلٌ عَلَی رَجُلٍ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ وَيْلَکَ قَطَعْتَ عُنُقَ أَخِيکَ ثَلَاثًا مَنْ کَانَ مِنْکُمْ مَادِحًا لَا مَحَالَةَ فَلْيَقُلْ أَحْسِبُ فُلَانًا وَاللَّهُ حَسِيبُهُ وَلَا أُزَکِّي عَلَی اللَّهِ أَحَدًا إِنْ کَانَ يَعْلَمُ

Narrated Abu Bakra: A man praised another man in front of the Prophet. The Prophet said thrice, "Wailaka (Woe on you) ! You have cut the neck of your brother!" The Prophet added, "If it is indispensable for anyone of you to praise a person, then he should say, "I think that such-and-such person (is so-and-so), and Allah is the one who will take his accounts (as he knows his reality) and none can sanctify anybody before Allah (and that only if he knows well about that person.)".

حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ وَالضَّحَّاکِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ بَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْسِمُ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ قِسْمًا فَقَالَ ذُو الْخُوَيْصِرَةِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اعْدِلْ قَالَ وَيْلَکَ مَنْ يَعْدِلُ إِذَا لَمْ أَعْدِلْ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ائْذَنْ لِي فَلْأَضْرِبْ عُنُقَهُ قَالَ لَا إِنَّ لَهُ أَصْحَابًا يَحْقِرُ أَحَدُکُمْ صَلَاتَهُ مَعَ صَلَاتِهِمْ وَصِيَامَهُ مَعَ صِيَامِهِمْ يَمْرُقُونَ مِنْ الدِّينِ کَمُرُوقِ السَّهْمِ مِنْ الرَّمِيَّةِ يُنْظَرُ إِلَی نَصْلِهِ فَلَا يُوجَدُ فِيهِ شَيْئٌ ثُمَّ يُنْظَرُ إِلَی رِصَافِهِ فَلَا يُوجَدُ فِيهِ شَيْئٌ ثُمَّ يُنْظَرُ إِلَی نَضِيِّهِ فَلَا يُوجَدُ فِيهِ شَيْئٌ ثُمَّ يُنْظَرُ إِلَی قُذَذِهِ فَلَا يُوجَدُ فِيهِ شَيْئٌ قَدْ سَبَقَ الْفَرْثَ وَالدَّمَ يَخْرُجُونَ عَلَی حِينِ فُرْقَةٍ مِنْ النَّاسِ آيَتُهُمْ رَجُلٌ إِحْدَی يَدَيْهِ مِثْلُ ثَدْيِ الْمَرْأَةِ أَوْ مِثْلُ الْبَضْعَةِ تَدَرْدَرُ قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنِّي کُنْتُ مَعَ عَلِيٍّ حِينَ قَاتَلَهُمْ فَالْتُمِسَ فِي الْقَتْلَی فَأُتِيَ بِهِ عَلَی النَّعْتِ الَّذِي نَعَتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: While the Prophet was distributing (war booty etc.) one day, Dhul Khawaisira, a man from the tribe of Bani Tamim, said, "O Allah's Apostle! Act justly." The Prophets said, "Woe to you! Who else would act justly if I did not act justly?" `Umar said (to the Prophet ), "Allow me to chop his neck off." The Prophet said, "No, for he has companions (who are apparently so pious that) if anyone of (you compares his prayer with) their prayer, he will consider his prayer inferior to theirs, and similarly his fasting inferior to theirs, but they will desert Islam (go out of religion) as an arrow goes through the victim's body (games etc.) in which case if its Nasl is examined nothing will be seen thereon, and if its Nady is examined, nothing will be seen thereon, and if its Qudhadh is examined, nothing will be seen thereon, for the arrow has gone out too fast even for the excretions and blood to smear over it. Such people will come out at the time of difference among the (Muslim) people and the sign by which they will be recognized, will be a man whose one of the two hands will look like the breast of a woman or a lump of flesh moving loosely." Abu Sa`id added, "I testify that I heard that from the Prophet and also testify that I was with `Ali when `Ali fought against those people. The man described by the Prophet was searched for among the killed, and was found, and he was exactly as the Prophet had described him." (See Hadith No. 807, Vol. 4)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُقَاتِلٍ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَی رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلَکْتُ قَالَ وَيْحَکَ قَالَ وَقَعْتُ عَلَی أَهْلِي فِي رَمَضَانَ قَالَ أَعْتِقْ رَقَبَةً قَالَ مَا أَجِدُهَا قَالَ فَصُمْ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ قَالَ لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ قَالَ فَأَطْعِمْ سِتِّينَ مِسْکِينًا قَالَ مَا أَجِدُ فَأُتِيَ بِعَرَقٍ فَقَالَ خُذْهُ فَتَصَدَّقْ بِهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَعَلَی غَيْرِ أَهْلِي فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا بَيْنَ طُنُبَيْ الْمَدِينَةِ أَحْوَجُ مِنِّي فَضَحِکَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّی بَدَتْ أَنْيَابُهُ قَالَ خُذْهُ تَابَعَهُ يُونُسُ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَيْلَکَ

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I am ruined!" The Prophet said, "Waihaka (May Allah be merciful to you) !" The man said, "I have done sexual intercourse with my wife while fasting in Ramadan." The Prophet said, "Manumit a slave." The man said, " I cannot afford that. " The Prophet said; "Then fast for two successive months." The man said, " I have no power to do so." The Prophet said, "Then feed sixty poor persons." The man said, "I have nothing (to feed sixty persons). Later a basket full of dates were brought to the Prophet and he said (to the man), "Take it and give it in charity." The man said, "O Allah's Apostle! Shall I give it to people other than my family? By Him in Whose Hand my life is, there is nobody poorer than me in the whole city of Medina." The Prophet smiled till his premolar teeth became visible, and said, "Take it." Az-Zuhri said (that the Prophet said). "Wailaka."

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ← ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ← الْاَوْزَاعِیُّ ← عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُقَاتِلٍ أَبُو الحَسَنِ،

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عَطَائِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ الْهِجْرَةِ فَقَالَ وَيْحَکَ إِنَّ شَأْنَ الْهِجْرَةِ شَدِيدٌ فَهَلْ لَکَ مِنْ إِبِلٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَهَلْ تُؤَدِّي صَدَقَتَهَا قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَاعْمَلْ مِنْ وَرَائِ الْبِحَارِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَنْ يَتِرَکَ مِنْ عَمَلِکَ شَيْئًا

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: A bedouin said, "O Allah's Apostle! Inform me about the emigration." The Prophet said, "Waihaka (May Allah be merciful to you)! The question of emigration is a difficult one. Have you got some camels?" The bedouin said, "Yes." The Prophet said, "Do you pay their Zakat?" He said, "Yes." The Prophet said, "Go on doing like this from beyond the seas, for Allah will not let your deeds go in vain."

أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، ← عَطَائِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ ← ابْنِ شِهَابٍ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ← أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، ← الْوَلِیْدُ ← سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ،

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ وَاقِدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَيْلَکُمْ أَوْ وَيْحَکُمْ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ شَکَّ هُوَ لَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي کُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُکُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ وَقَالَ النَّضْرُ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ وَيْحَکُمْ وَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَيْلَکُمْ أَوْ وَيْحَکُمْ

Narrated Ibn `Umar: The Prophet said, "Wailakum" (woe to you) or "waihakum" (May Allah be merciful to you)." Shu`ba is not sure as to which was the right word. "Do not become disbelievers after me by cutting the necks of one another."

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ← أَبِي ← وَاقِدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، ← شُعْبَةُ ← خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ← عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ أَتَی النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَی السَّاعَةُ قَائِمَةٌ قَالَ وَيْلَکَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ إِنَّکَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ فَقُلْنَا وَنَحْنُ کَذَلِکَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَفَرِحْنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ فَرَحًا شَدِيدًا فَمَرَّ غُلَامٌ لِلْمُغِيرَةِ وَکَانَ مِنْ أَقْرَانِي فَقَالَ إِنْ أُخِّرَ هَذَا فَلَنْ يُدْرِکَهُ الْهَرَمُ حَتَّی تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ وَاخْتَصَرَهُ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Narrated Anas: A bedouin came to the Prophet and said, "O Allah's Apostle! When will The Hour be established?" The Prophet said, "Wailaka (Woe to you), What have you prepared for it?" The bedouin said, "I have not prepared anything for it, except that I love Allah and H is Apostle." The Prophet said, "You will be with those whom you love." We (the companions of the Prophet ) said, "And will we too be so? The Prophet said, "Yes." So we became very glad on that day. In the meantime, a slave of Al-Mughira passed by, and he was of the same age as I was. The Prophet said. "If this (slave) should live long, he will not reach the geriatric old age, but the Hour will be established."

أَنَسٍ، ← قَتَادَةَ ← هَمَّامٌ، ← عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ،

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْمَرْئُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ

Narrated `Abdullah: The Prophet said, "Everyone will be with those whom he loves."

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ← أَبِي وَائِلٍ، ← سُلَیْمَانَ ← شُعْبَةُ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ← بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ جَائَ رَجُلٌ إِلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ کَيْفَ تَقُولُ فِي رَجُلٍ أَحَبَّ قَوْمًا وَلَمْ يَلْحَقْ بِهِمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَرْئُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ تَابَعَهُ جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ قَرْمٍ وَأَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Narrated `Abdullah bin Mas`ud: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! What do you say about a man who loves some people but cannot catch up with their good deeds?" Allah's Apostle said, "Everyone will be with those whom he loves."

أَبِي وَائِلٍ، ← الْاَعْمَشِ ← جَرِيرٌ ← قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَی قَالَ قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الْقَوْمَ وَلَمَّا يَلْحَقْ بِهِمْ قَالَ الْمَرْئُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ تَابَعَهُ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ

Narrated Abu Musa: It was said to the Prophet; , "A man may love some people but he cannot catch up with their good deeds?" The Prophet said, "Everyone will be with those whom he loves."

اَبِیْ مُوْسیٰ ← أَبِي وَائِلٍ، ← الْاَعْمَشِ ← سُفْيَانَ، ← أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ،

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبِي عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَتَی السَّاعَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ کَثِيرِ صَلَاةٍ وَلَا صَوْمٍ وَلَا صَدَقَةٍ وَلَکِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

Narrated Anas bin Malik: A man asked the Prophet "When will the Hour be established O Allah's Apostle?" The Prophet . said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, " I haven't prepared for it much of prayers or fast or alms, but I love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet said, "You will be with those whom you love."

اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ، ← سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، ← عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ← شُعْبَةُ ← أَبِي ← عَبْدَانُ،

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ زَرِيرٍ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا رَجَائٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِابْنِ صَائِدٍ قَدْ خَبَأْتُ لَکَ خَبِيئًا فَمَا هُوَ قَالَ الدُّخُّ قَالَ اخْسَأْ

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Apostle said to Ibn Saiyad "I have hidden something for you in my mind; What is it?" He said, "Ad-Dukh." The Prophet said, "Ikhsa."

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ← أَبَا رَجَاءٍ ← سَلْمُ بْنُ زَرِيرٍ، ← أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ،

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ انْطَلَقَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ قِبَلَ ابْنِ صَيَّادٍ حَتَّی وَجَدَهُ يَلْعَبُ مَعَ الْغِلْمَانِ فِي أُطُمِ بَنِي مَغَالَةَ وَقَدْ قَارَبَ ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْحُلُمَ فَلَمْ يَشْعُرْ حَتَّی ضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ظَهْرَهُ بِيَدِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَتَشْهَدُ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّکَ رَسُولُ الْأُمِّيِّينَ ثُمَّ قَالَ ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ أَتَشْهَدُ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَرَضَّهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ آمَنْتُ بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِابْنِ صَيَّادٍ مَاذَا تَرَی قَالَ يَأْتِينِي صَادِقٌ وَکَاذِبٌ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُلِّطَ عَلَيْکَ الْأَمْرُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي خَبَأْتُ لَکَ خَبِيئًا قَالَ هُوَ الدُّخُّ قَالَ اخْسَأْ فَلَنْ تَعْدُوَ قَدْرَکَ قَالَ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَتَأْذَنُ لِي فِيهِ أَضْرِبْ عُنُقَهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنْ يَکُنْ هُوَ لَا تُسَلَّطُ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَکُنْ هُوَ فَلَا خَيْرَ لَکَ فِي قَتْلِهِ قَالَ سَالِمٌ فَسَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ انْطَلَقَ بَعْدَ ذَلِکَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأُبَيُّ بْنُ کَعْبٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ يَؤُمَّانِ النَّخْلَ الَّتِي فِيهَا ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ حَتَّی إِذَا دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَفِقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَّقِي بِجُذُوعِ النَّخْلِ وَهُوَ يَخْتِلُ أَنْ يَسْمَعَ مِنْ ابْنِ صَيَّادٍ شَيْئًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرَاهُ وَابْنُ صَيَّادٍ مُضْطَجِعٌ عَلَی فِرَاشِهِ فِي قَطِيفَةٍ لَهُ فِيهَا رَمْرَمَةٌ أَوْ زَمْزَمَةٌ فَرَأَتْ أُمُّ ابْنِ صَيَّادٍ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَتَّقِي بِجُذُوعِ النَّخْلِ فَقَالَتْ لِابْنِ صَيَّادٍ أَيْ صَافِ وَهُوَ اسْمُهُ هَذَا مُحَمَّدٌ فَتَنَاهَی ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ تَرَکَتْهُ بَيَّنَ قَالَ سَالِمٌ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي النَّاسِ فَأَثْنَی عَلَی اللَّهِ بِمَا هُوَ أَهْلُهُ ثُمَّ ذَکَرَ الدَّجَّالَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أُنْذِرُکُمُوهُ وَمَا مِنْ نَبِيٍّ إِلَّا وَقَدْ أَنْذَرَهُ قَوْمَهُ لَقَدْ أَنْذَرَهُ نُوحٌ قَوْمَهُ وَلَکِنِّي سَأَقُولُ لَکُمْ فِيهِ قَوْلًا لَمْ يَقُلْهُ نَبِيٌّ لِقَوْمِهِ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ أَعْوَرُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِأَعْوَرَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ خَسَأْتُ الْکَلْبَ بَعَّدْتُهُ خَاسِئِينَ مُبْعَدِينَ

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: `Umar bin Al-Khattab set out with Allah's Apostle, and a group of his companions to Ibn Saiyad. They found him playing with the boys in the fort or near the Hillocks of Bani Maghala. Ibn Saiyad was nearing his puberty at that time, and he did not notice the arrival of the Prophet till Allah's Apostle stroked him on the back with his hand and said, "Do you testify that I am Allah's Apostle?" Ibn Saiyad looked at him and said, "I testify that you are the Apostle of the unlettered ones (illiterates)". Then Ibn Saiyad said to the Prophets . "Do you testify that I am Allah's Apostle?" The Prophet denied that, saying, "I believe in Allah and all His Apostles," and then said to Ibn Saiyad, "What do you see?" Ibn Saiyad said, "True people and liars visit me." The Prophet said, "You have been confused as to this matter." Allah's Apostle added, "I have kept something for you (in my mind)." Ibn Saiyad said, "Ad-Dukh." The Prophet said, "Ikhsa (you should be ashamed) for you can not cross your limits." `Umar said, "O Allah's Apostle! Allow me to chop off h is neck." Allah's Apostle said (to `Umar). "Should this person be him (i.e. Ad-Dajjal) then you cannot over-power him; and should he be someone else, then it will be no use your killing him."
